The Troggs
The Troggs (originally called the Troglodytes) are an English garage rock band formed in Andover, Hampshire in May 1964. Their most famous songs include the US chart-topper " Wild Thing", "With a Girl Like You" and "Love Is All Around", all of which sold over 1 million copies and were awarded gold discs. "Wild Thing" is ranked No. 257 on the ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was an influence on garage rock and punk rock.Laing, Dave (1985). Pete Staples
Peter Lawrence Staples (born 3 May 1944)Strong, Martin C. (2002) ''The Great Rock Discography'', Canongate, . p. 1073-5 is an English musician best known as the original bassist of The Troggs. Biography A founding member of the band, Staples and guitarist Chris Britton left their first group together, Ten Feet Five, in 1964 to form The Troggs with lead vocalist Reg Presley and drummer Ronnie Bond. They went on to have nine UK singles chart entries between mid-1966 and early 1968. Staples married in 1968, and left the group the following year. The threshold quantity varies by type (such as album, single, music video) and by nation or territory (see List of music recording certifications). Thank Your Lucky Stars (TV Series)
''Thank Your Lucky Stars'' was a British television pop music show made by ABC Weekend TV, and broadcast on ITV from 1961 to 1966. Of all the show's presenters, Brian Matthew is perhaps the best remembered. Many of the leading pop groups of the time performed on it. As well as featuring British artists, it often included American guest stars. It would appear from the surviving footage that the bands mimed their latest 45. Occasionally a band was allowed to do two numbers (possibly the A-side and B-side sides of their latest single or an EP or LP track); bands of a higher status such as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones would sometimes play up to as many as four numbers. Chip Taylor (born James Wesley Voight; March 21, 1940) is an American songwriter and singer noted for writing "Angel of the Morning" and " Wild Thing". Early life Taylor was born on March 21, 1940, in Yonkers, New York. He is the brother of actor Jon Voight and geologist Barry Voight and the uncle of actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven. Taylor and his brothers attended Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. In 1961, Taylor attended the University of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut, for one year. After an unsuccessful attempt to become a professional golfer like his father Elmer Voight, Taylor entered the music business. The Kinks
The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, north London, in 1963 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies. They are regarded as one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s. Larry Page (born Leonard Davies, c. 1938, in Hayes, Hillingdon, Middlesex) is an English former pop singer and record producer of the late 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s. Biography After changing his name to Larry Page in honour of Larry Parks, the star of ''The Jolson Story'' (1946), the teenager began a recording career as a singer. Page tried to magnify his fame through the wearing of unusually large Glasses, spectacles, as "Larry Page the Teenage Rage".
