"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" is a well-known phrase from the United States Declaration of Independence. The band supported the album with a North American tour that included shows with Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper. The first single, "Dark Light", peaked at No. 27 on ''Billboards Album Rock Tracks chart. "Hollywood Hills", for which a video was shot, was also released as a single. Production Recorded at Indigo Ranch, in Malibu, the album was produced by Dave Jerden. Daniel Garrison Brinton (May 13, 1837July 31, 1899) was an American surgeon, historian, archaeologist and ethnologist. Biography Brinton was born in Thornbury Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Yale University in 1858, Brinton studied at Jefferson Medical College for two years and spent the next year travelling in Europe. He continued his studies at Paris and Heidelberg. From 1862 to 1865, during the American Civil War, he was a surgeon in the Union army, acting during 1864–1865 as surgeon-in-charge of the U.S. Army general hospital at Quincy, Illinois. The Pursuit of Happiness (TPOH) is a Canadian power pop group perhaps best known for their song "I'm an Adult Now". Beginnings Led by Edmonton, Alberta, singer and songwriter Moe Berg, The Pursuit of Happiness were launched in 1985 when he and drummer Dave Gilby moved to Toronto, Ontario. They soon met bassist Johnny Sinclair and formed the band, adding sisters Tamara and Natasha Amabile as backing vocalists. Their debut single, "I'm an Adult Now", quickly became a smash hit across Canada in 1986, sparked by a low-budget video (made by Berg's director friend Nelu Ghiran) which made it onto the Canadian music video channel MuchMusic. The band signed with manager Jeff Rogers (Swell) in 1986. The band did not immediately sign to a record label, but instead released another independent single, "Killed by Love", in 1988.
