''The Mole'' is an Australians, Australian Reality television, reality television show that aired on the Seven Network. It is based on other versions of the original Belgium, Belgian TV series ''De Mol (TV series), The Mole'' that have aired in numerous countries. The most recent season aired in 2013. The series is a reality competition in which the contestants work as a group to add money to a kitty that one of them will win. Among the contestants is one person who has been designated "the Mole (espionage), Mole" by the producers and is tasked with sabotaging the group's money-making efforts. His or her identity is unknown until the end of the series, when two genuine contestants take a final quiz in the final episode regarding details of the Mole. At the end of each episode, the contestant who knows the least about who the mole is, as decided by the results of a quiz, is eliminated from the game. The second season of the Australian version of '' The Mole'' originally aired from 21 February 2001 to 25 April 2001. It took place in Victoria and was hosted by Grant Bowler. ''Big Brother Australia'' (also known simply as ''Big Brother'') is an Australian reality show based on the international '' Big Brother'' format created by John de Mol. Following the premise of other versions of the format, the show features a group of contestants, known as "housemates" who live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. The housemates are continuously monitored during their stay in the house by live television cameras as well as personal audio microphones. The Logie Awards (officially the TV Week Logie Awards; colloquially known as The Logies) is an annual gathering to celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by the magazine ''TV Week''. The sixth season of the Australian version of '' The Mole'' took place in various locations around Australia, and was hosted by Shura Taft. The fifth season of the Australian version of '' The Mole'', subtitled ''The Amazing Game'', took place in New Zealand and was hosted by Tom Williams. Show Details The announced maximum kitty for the season was $500,000, though the absolute maximum was slightly more than that. The final group kitty was $203,000. Unlike previous seasons, the show was produced live, with the challenges occurring over a weekend in New Zealand. Afterwards, the players were flown into Sydney for a live quiz and elimination on Thursdays. The fourth season of the Australian version of '' The Mole'', subtitled ''The Mole in Paradise'', took place mostly in New Caledonia and was hosted by Grant Bowler. Show Details This season had a higher announced maximum kitty than previous seasons, touting the maximum amount to be won to be $500,000. However, the final total in the group kitty was comparable with that of previous seasons, at $104,000. The first episode of this season took place in Sydney, with the host revealing during the elimination that nine of them, minus the player who was to be eliminated, would head to New Caledonia for the remainder of the season.
