Tango Singers
This is a list of notable tango singers, that is, notable singers who are accomplished in the Tango music, tango genre. Many tango musicians have been both musicians and singers, but this does not exclude from this list. While the vast majority of earlier tango singers were Argentina, Argentines, this list illustrates the diversification of tango over time, with the growth in female stars such as Susana Rinaldi and the spread of tango around the world, as far as Russia (Pyotr Leshchenko), Poland (Jerzy Petersburski), and Turkey (İbrahim Özgür). Tango Music
Tango ( or ; ) is a style of music in Time signature, or time that originated among Great European immigration wave to Argentina, European immigrants of the Great Wave to Argentina and Uruguay. It has mainly Culture of Spain, Spanish, Culture of Italy, Italian, Gaucho culture, Gaucho, Culture of Africa, African, and Culture of France, French cultural roots. It is traditionally played on a solo guitar, guitar duo, or an ensemble, known as the ''orquesta típica'', which includes at least two violins, flute, piano, double bass, and at least two bandoneóns. Sometimes guitars and a clarinet join the ensemble. Tango may be purely instrumental or may include a vocalist. Tango music and tango (dance), dance have become popular throughout the world. Beba Bidart
Eliane René Schianni Bidart (stage name, Beba Bidart; April 3, 1924 – August 27, 1994), was an Argentine tango singer, actress and dancer. Eliane René Schianni Bidart was born April 3, 1924, in Buenos Aires Buenos Aires, controlled by the government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, is the Capital city, capital and largest city of Argentina. It is located on the southwest of the Río de la Plata. Buenos Aires is classified as an Alpha− glob .... She began her studies at the age of ten at Teatro Infantil Labardén. She made thirty tango recordings accompanied by the Francisco Canaro's orchestra and others. Her very first film was ''Los Pulpos'' "Octopussy" (1948) opening out her path for acting on as many as thirty movies in total. She had been in a 12-year relationship with TV host Cacho Fontana. Roberto Díaz (violist)
Roberto Díaz is a Chilean-American violist, and the president/director of the Curtis Institute of Music, of which he is an alumnus. From 1996 to 2006 he held the position of principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and has been principal viola of the National Symphony under Mstislav Rostropovich, a member of the Boston Symphony under Seiji Ozawa, and a member of the Minnesota Orchestra under Neville Marriner. He is the violist in the Díaz Trio, which includes cellist Andrés Díaz (cellist), Andrés Díaz (his brother) and violinist Andrés Cárdenes, former concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Díaz's primary teachers were his father Manuel Díaz, Burton Fine, Louis Krasner, and Joseph de Pasquale. His recording of transcriptions by William Primrose with pianist Robert Koenig was nominated for a 2006 Grammy Award.
