Synchronized swimming at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held in the Olympic Aquatic Centre where 104 competitors challenged for 2 gold medals in the duet and team events. Each event was made up of a technical and free routine with the points added together to determine the medalists. Sydney International Aquatic Centre
The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC) , formerly Sydney International Aquatic Centre (SIAC), is a swimming pool, swimming venue located in the Sydney Olympic Park in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Built in 1994, the SOPAC was a major venue for the 2000 Summer Olympics as it hosted the Swimming at the 2000 Summer Olympics, swimming, Diving at the 2000 Summer Olympics, diving, Synchronized swimming at the 2000 Summer Olympics, synchronized swimming, the medal events for Water polo at the 2000 Summer Olympics, water polo, and the swimming portion of the Modern pentathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics, modern pentathlon competitions. The SOPAC has since been a host venue for numerous schools and swimming associations around New South Wales. Currently, it has most notably been the venue for the annual Combined Associated Schools, CAS Swimming Championships. It is also scheduled to be the site of the 2022 Duel in the Pool.

Claire Carver-Dias
Claire Rhiannon Carver-Dias (born May 19, 1977 in Burlington, Ontario) is a Canadian competitor in synchronized swimming and Olympic medallist. Career She grew up in Montreal, Quebec, but moved to Toronto in her late teens to pursue a career on the Canadian National Synchronized Swim Team. From 1994 to 1996 Carver-Dias competed in the duet event and won several national titles with duet partner Estella Warren, who went on to become an international model and movie-star. Carver-Dias won the gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in the Women's Duet alongside Fanny Létourneau, and a gold medal in the team event as well.
