Sydney Swifts
Sydney Swifts were an Australian netball team based in Sydney. Between 1997 and 2007, they represented Netball New South Wales in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy league. Together with Sydney Sandpipers and Hunter Jaegers, they were one of three teams to represent NNSW in the competition. After Melbourne Phoenix, Swifts were the league's second most successful team, winning four premierships and three minor premierships. In 2008, when the Commonwealth Bank Trophy was replaced by the ANZ Championship, Swifts and Jaegers merged to form New South Wales Swifts. History Mobil Superleague Sydney Swifts evolved from a state league team that represented the Ku-ring-gai area. The individual or group that provides the support, similar to a benefactor, is known as the sponsor. The State Sports Centre (known commercially as the Quaycentre) is a multi-use indoor arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and was opened in November 1984. Netball SA Stadium is an Australia netball stadium based in Mile End South, Adelaide. Due to sponsorship and naming rights arrangements, it has also been known as ETSA Park and Priceline Stadium. Selina Gilsenan
Selina May Hornibrook (née Gilsenan born 31 May 1978) is a retired Australian netball player. Hornibrook has Rotuman ancestry from her mother. Career After a successful year playing in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy premiership-winning team in 2001, national selectors identified Hornibrook's talent and she received her first invitation to join the Australian squad in 2002. However it was not until early 2005 that she received her first call up to the Australian open team, making her debut in a match against England, which Australia won by 40 goals. A rib injury forced Hornibrook out of Australian team contention for the next international test series, but she fought her way back into contention in late 2005, and has been a permanent member of the team ever since. Megan Anderson (netball)
Megan Anderson, also known as Megan McWilliams and previously known as Megan Dehn, is a former Australia netball international and current netball coach. Between 2000 and 2006 she made 20 senior appearances for Australia. She was a member of the Australia team that won the silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. During the Commonwealth Bank Trophy era, Anderson was a member of Sydney Swifts teams that won premierships in 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2007. During the ANZ Championship era, she played for Southern Steel and Northern Mystics. After retiring as a player in 2011, she became a coach. Queensland Firebirds are an Australian netball team based in Brisbane, Queensland. Since 2017 they have played in Suncorp Super Netball.
