Sus, Lachin
Sus ( arm, Սուս; az, Sus) is a village within the strategic Lachin corridor, which links the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia. It was formerly under the supervision of the Russian peacekeeping force following the ceasefire agreement that ended the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. The village came under the ''de facto'' control of the breakaway Republic of Artsakh from 1992–2022, administrated as part of its Kashatagh Province, and is ''de jure'' part of the Lachin District of Azerbaijan. As of 26 August 2022, Azerbaijan regained control of villages in the Lachin corridor, including Lachin, Sus, and Zabukh. Geography Sus sits on the Hakari (Aghavno) river, opposite of Ashaghy Sus (Nerkin Sus). It is 1.8 km (1.1 mi) from Ashaghy Sus (Nerkin Sus), 3.1 km (1.9 mi) from Lachin (Berdzor), 4.8 km (3.0 mi) from Zabukh (Aghavno), 8.4 km (5.2 mi) from Tegh, Armenia, 19.6 km (12.2 mi) from Goris, Armenia, and 30.9 km (19.2 mi) from Stepanakert (Khankendi). System Usability Scale
In systems engineering, the system usability scale (SUS) is a simple, ten-item attitude Likert scale giving a global view of subjective assessments of usability. It was developed by John Brooke at Digital Equipment Corporation in the UK in 1986 as a tool to be used in usability engineering of electronic office systems. The usability of a system, as defined by the ISO standard ISO 9241 ISO 9241 is a multi-part standard from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) covering ergonomics of human-computer interaction. It is managed by the ISO Technical Committee 159. It was originally titled ''Ergonomic requiremen ... Part 11, can be measured only by taking into account the context of use of the system—i.e., who is using the system, what they are using it for, and the environment in which they are using it. Furthermore, measurements of usability have several different aspects: * effectiveness (can users successfully achieve their objectives) * efficiency (how muc ...

Sous
The Sous region (also spelt Sus, Suss, Souss or Sousse) ( ar, سوس, sūs, shi, ⵙⵓⵙ, sus) is an area in mid-southern Morocco. Geologically, it is the alluvial basin of the Sous River (''Asif n Sus''), separated from the Sahara desert by the Anti-Atlas Mountains. The natural vegetation in the Sous region is savanna dominated by the argan (''Argania spinosa''), a local endemic tree found nowhere else; part of the area is now a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve to protect this unique habitat. The region of Sous is generally fertile and has a high agricultural production. History Medieval Arabic geographers generally divided the Sous region into two distinct sub-regions: ''al-Sūs al-Aqṣā'', or "farther Sus", and ''al-Sūs al-Adnā'', or "nearer Sus". Sus al-Aqsa consisted of the southern/western part, and Sus al-Adna consisted of the northern/eastern part; however, there were never any precise boundaries between the two. The capital of the Sous was at Igli. There was also a ...

Suspense
Suspense is a state of mental uncertainty, anxiety, being undecided, or being doubtful. In a dramatic work, suspense is the anticipation of the outcome of a plot or of the solution to an uncertainty, puzzle, or mystery, particularly as it affects a character for whom one has sympathy. However, suspense is not exclusive to fiction. In drama In literature, films, television, and plays, suspense is a major device for securing and maintaining interest. It may be of several major types: in one, the outcome is uncertain and the suspense resides in the question of ''who, what, or how''; in another, the outcome is inevitable from foregoing events, and the suspense resides in the audience's anxious or frightened anticipation in the question of ''when''. Readers feel suspense when they are deeply curious about ''what'' will happen next, or when they know what is likely to happen but don’t know ''how'' it will happen. Even in historical fiction, with characters whose life stori ...

Suspicion (emotion)
Suspicion is a cognition of mistrust in which a person doubts the honesty of another person or believes another person to be guilty of some type of wrongdoing or crime, but without sure proof. Suspicion can also be aroused in response to objects that negatively differ from an expected idea. In the US, the courts use the term "reasonable suspicion" in connection with the right of the police to stop people on the street. The word comes from Middle-English via the Old French word "suspicion", which is a variation of the Italian word "sospetto" (a derivative of the Latin term "suspectio", which means "to watch"). History English philosopher, statesman, and author Francis Bacon (1561–1626) wrote an essay entitled ''Of Suspicion'', in which he stated that suspicions need to be repressed and well-guarded, because otherwise they will cloud the mind, and cause a ruler to move towards tyranny, due to the fear that his subjects are conspiring against him, and a husband to become jealous ...

Sus Law
In England and Wales, the sus law (from "suspected person") was a stop and search law that permitted a police officer to stop, search and potentially arrest people on suspicion of them being in breach of section 4 of the Vagrancy Act 1824. According to a 2018 study in the '' British Journal of Criminology'', stop and search had a marginal impact on crime in the UK. 1824 legislation The power to act on suspicion was found in part of section 4 of the Vagrancy Act 1824, which provided that: and upon conviction may be imprisoned for up to three months. This effectively permitted the police to stop and search, and even arrest, anyone found in a public place if they suspected that they intended to commit an offence. In order to bring a prosecution under the act, the police had to prove that the defendant had committed two acts: * the first, that established them as a "suspected person" (by acting suspiciously), and * the second, that provided intent to commit an arrestable offence ...

Young Independents
Young Independents ( is, Ungir sjálfstæðismenn), abbreviated to SUS, is the youth wing of the Independence Party of Iceland. Young Independents was founded at Þingvellir on 27 June 1930: the year after the Independence Party itself. Its current chairman is Lísbet Sigurðardóttir, who was elected on 12 September 2021. It is liberally conservative, like its mother party, but often expresses more classical liberal views. The party can conduct its own policy and campaigns. In 2011, it criticised capital controls, subsidies to the Symphony Orchestra, and the application for EU membership. In February 2011, it ran an advert in ''Morgunblaðið'' that urged Independence Party MPs to vote against the government paying foreign liabilities accrued by Icesave. SUS put forward an alternative budget in 2010, and criticised Independence Party MPs for following convention by not voting against the government's budget. Its largest branch is its Reykjavík Reykjavík ( ; ) is the ...

Suspended Chord
A suspended chord (or sus chord) is a musical chord in which the (major or minor) third is omitted and replaced with a perfect fourth or a major second. The lack of a minor or a major third in the chord creates an open sound, while the dissonance between the fourth and fifth or second and root creates tension. When using popular-music symbols, they are indicated by the symbols "sus4" and "sus2". For example, the suspended fourth and second chords built on C (C–E–G), written as Csus4 and Csus2, have pitches C–F–G and C–D–G, respectively. Suspended fourth and second chords can be represented by the integer notation and , respectively. Analysis The term is borrowed from the contrapuntal technique of ''suspension'', where a note from a previous chord is carried over to the next chord, and then resolved down to the third or tonic, ''suspending'' a note from the previous chord. However, in modern usage the term concerns only the notes played at a given time – the susp ...
