Jon Steven Young (born October 11, 1961) is an American former professional American football, football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prior to his NFL career, he was a member of the Los Angeles Express (USFL), Los Angeles Express in the United States Football League (USFL) for two seasons. Young played college football for Brigham Young University (BYU), setting school and NCAA records en route to being runner-up for the 1983 Heisman Trophy. Young was named the AP's NFL Most Valuable Player in 1992 NFL season, 1992 and 1994 NFL season, 1994, and was the MVP of Super Bowl XXIX where he led the 49ers to a victory over the History of the San Diego Chargers, San Diego Chargers with a record six touchdown passes.
