Jesper Møllegaard Staal (born March 1, 1972) is a Danish sprint canoer who competed from the early 20th century to the mid-2000s (decade). He won two medals in the K-2 1000 m event at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold in 1994 and a silver in 1997. STAL (Svenska Turbinfabriks AB Ljungström; "Swedish Turbine Manufacturing Co.") was an industrial company established in 1913 in Finspång, Sweden, by the brothers Birger Ljungström, and Fredrik Ljungström, developing the Ljungström turbine. In 1916, STAL became a subsidiary of ASEA. In 1959, the company was merged with ''AB de Laval Steam Turbine'' in Stockholm and formed ''Turbin AB de Laval Ljungström'', which changed its name to ''STAL-LAVAL Turbin AB'' in 1962. Staal Jørpeland Idrettslag, also known as just Staal, is a Norwegian sports club from Jørpeland, Rogaland. It has sections for association football, team handball and track and field. The club was founded in 1919, and the club colors are green and black. Their home matches are played at Jørpeland Stadion. The men's football team currently plays in the Norwegian Third Division, the fourth tier of Norwegian football, after being relegated from the 2022 Norwegian Second Division. Marguerite Jeanne Cordier de Launay, baronne de Staal (30 August 1684 – 15 June 1750) was a French author. Life De Launay was born in Paris. Her father was a painter named Cordier. He seems to have deserted her mother, who then resumed her maiden name, de Launay, which was also adopted by her daughter. Margaret Staal-Kropholler, frequently referred to as Margaret Kropholler, (27 June 1891, Haarlem - 15 November 1966, Amsterdam) was the first woman in the Netherlands to practice as a professional architect. Biography After completing her schooling in Amsterdam in 1907, she became a trainee with the architectural firm Kropholler en Staal where her brother Alexander Kropholler had set up a practice with Jan Frederik Staal. She then attended the arts and crafts school in Haarlem before taking evening classes at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture (1914–1916). Marc Staal (born January 13, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL) after having played over 1,000 regular season games with the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings. He is the second-oldest of the Staal brothers to play in the NHL. Of the four brothers, Marc is the only defenceman, as well as the only one who has never played for the Carolina Hurricanes. Kim Staal (born March 10, 1978) is a Danish former professional ice hockey forward, who last played with Herlev Eagles. Despite his surname, he is not related to the Staal family of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, which consists of hockey playing brothers Eric, Marc, Jordan and Jared, who are Canadians of Dutch descent. Playing career Staal was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens as their fourth-round pick in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
