St Johnstone F.C. Seasons
St Johnstone Football Club is a Scottish professional association football club based in Perth. The club was officially formed in 1884 and the team played its first game in February 1885. St Johnstone first appeared in the Scottish Cup in the 1886–87 season and they joined the Scottish Football League in 1911–12. The club has had three home grounds, the current one since 1989 is McDiarmid Park. St Johnstone have won three major honours. Their first was the Scottish Cup, winning the 2014 final with a 2–0 win against Dundee United. They then won a domestic cup double in 2021 by winning 1–0 in both the 2021 Scottish Cup Final and the 2021 Scottish League Cup Final (February). 2012–13 In Scottish Football
The 2012–13 season was the 116th season of competitive football in Scotland. The season began on 28 July 2012, with the start of the Challenge Cup. Transfer deals League competitions Scottish Premier League Rangers' participation in the SPL was dependant upon the successful transfer of their membership share of the League to the new company that had bought the club, which would be decided by a vote of the SPL clubs. Eight clubs publicly declared that they would oppose the membership transfer, which would mean that they could not play in the SPL. The vote took place on 4 July 2012, and Rangers were refused re-entry to the SPL by a 10-1 majority. The Scottish Football League Second Division was the third tier of the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. History The Second Division was created in 1975, as part of a wider reconstruction of the Scottish Football League (SFL). Prior to 1975, the SFL had been split into two divisions (Division One and Division Two). The effect of the reconstruction was to split these two divisions into three, with the top flight named the Premier Division, second tier the First Division, and a new third tier was created known as the Second Division. A fourth tier, known as the Third Division, was created in 1994. In 1998, the Premier Division clubs broke away from the SFL to form the Scottish Premier League (SPL). The Scottish Premiership, known as the cinch Premiership for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), the league competition for men's professional football clubs in Scotland. The Scottish Premiership was established in July 2013, after the SPFL was formed by a merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League.
