St. Petersburg Ladies' Trophy
The St. Petersburg Ladies' Trophy (formerly known as the Ladies Neva Cup) is a tournament for professional female tennis players played on indoor hardcourts. The event is classified as a WTA 500 tournament and was first held in St. Petersburg in 2003. History The event is held since 2003 in St. Petersburg. It was an ITF Women's Circuit event until 2015. In 2016, it was upgraded to a WTA Premier tournament in 2016, offering a prize money of $753,000, up from only $25,000 and $50,000 in previous years. The event replaced the Proximus Diamond Games on the WTA Tour from 2016. WTA Tour
The WTA Tour is a worldwide top-tier tennis tour for women organized by the Women's Tennis Association. The second-tier tour is the WTA 125K series, and third-tier is the ITF Women's Circuit. The men's equivalent is the ATP Tour. WTA Tour tournaments Structure (2021–present) The WTA Tour underwent slight change in the classification of tournaments in 2021, which were organized on par with the nomenclature used on ATP Tour: *Grand Slam tournaments (4) *Year-ending WTA Finals (1) *WTA 1000 tournaments (9): ** Mandatory: Four combined tournaments with male professional players with prize money ranging from US$6.5 million to US$8.3 million. Emma Laine
Emma Johanna Laine (born 26 March 1986) is a former tennis player from Finland. Laine won 11 singles and 44 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 7 August 2006, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 50. On 30 October 2006, she peaked at No. 64 in the doubles rankings. Playing for Finland Fed Cup team, Laine has a win–loss record of 56–21.
