Mersin (), also known as İçel, is a large city and a port on the Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey. It is the provincial capital of Mersin Province, Mersin (İçel) Province. The Mersin Volleyball Hall ( tr, Mersin Voleybol Salonu) is an indoor sports hall for volleyball events at Yenişehir district of Mersin, Turkey. The venue was constructed for the 2013 Mediterranean Games within 248 working days. It has a covered area of . Seating capacity of the sports hall is 1,000. It went in service on June 10, 2013 during two friendship matches played between the local men's and women's volleyball teams. Mersin Talim Yurdu, formerly Mersin İdman Yurdu, is a Turkish sports club from Mersin, Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean Region. The team played in the Turkish first division for 15 seasons, and after the 1983–84 season the football team played in the Turkish second and third divisions. The team was promoted to the Turkish second level division after the 2008–09 season. The Servet Tazegül Arena ( tr, Servet Tazegül Spor Salonu) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located at Yenişehir district of Mersin, Turkey, named in honor of the Olympic, world and European champion taekwondo practitioner Servet Tazegül (born 1988). Mezitli is a municipality and district governorate in Greater Mersin, Turkey. Mersin is one of 30 metropolitan centers in Turkey with more than one municipality within city borders.
