Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. The 2019 Spain Masters (officially known as the Barcelona Spain Masters 2019) was a badminton tournament which took place at the Pavelló de la Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, Spain, from 19 to 24 February 2019 with a total prize purse of $150,000. Tournament The 2019 Spain Masters was the fourth tournament of the 2019 BWF World Tour and also part of the Spain Masters championships, which had been held since 2018. Greysia Polii
Greysia Polii (; born 11 August 1987) is an Indonesian former badminton player specializing in doubles. She won gold medals in the women's doubles at the 2014 Asian Games, at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won three bronze medals at the World Championships in 2015, 2018, and 2019. Polii is a member of BWF Athletes' Commission to represent the needs and views of athletes to the BWF council and committees from 2013 to 2017 and 2021 to 2025. Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (born 15 February 1989) is a Danish badminton player. He joined the Denmark national badminton team, Denmark winning team at the 2016 Thomas & Uber Cup, 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China, where he and his teammates beating Indonesia national badminton team, Indonesia 3–2 in the final. Kim Astrup Sørensen (born 6 March 1992) is a Danish badminton player. As junior player, he won the bronze medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles. Pornpawee Chochuwong ( th, พรปวีณ์ ช่อชูวงศ์; born 22 January 1998) is a Thai badminton player. She was the girls' singles silver medalist at the 2015 Asian and 2016 World Junior Championships. She was also part of the Thai winning teams at the 2017 and 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Seo Seung-jae (Hangul: 서승재; born 4 September 1997) is a South Korean badminton player. In 2014, he competed at the Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. Kong Hee-yong (Hangul: 공희용; born 11 December 1996) is a South Korean badminton player. In 2013, she won the mixed team gold at the BWF World Junior Championships. Kim, who attended the University of Incheon, was the triple crowns at the 2013 Summer Universiade, by winning the gold medals in the women's doubles, mixed doubles and team event. Wang Chi-lin (; born 18 January 1995) is a Taiwanese badminton player who specializes in doubles. He is the 2020 Olympics men's doubles champion. Career In 2021, at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he and his partner Lee Yang defeated the 2018 World Champions' Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen in the men's doubles final. They became the first unseeded pair to win a gold medal in the Olympics' men's doubles badminton. This was Chinese Taipei's first Olympic medal in badminton.
