Somewherecold Records (formerly Somewhere Cold Records) is an American independent record label established in late 2004 by Jason T. Lamoreaux. The record company was founded in Lexington, Kentucky, but is currently headquartered in Shelbyville, Kentucky. It releases ambient, shoegaze, dream pop, slowcore, post-rock, space rock and drone music, with an international roster of artists spanning from the early 2000s to the present. The Business (record Store)
The Business is an independent record store, music distribution company and concert venue located on Commercial Avenue in Anacortes, Skagit County, Washington, United States. It formerly also housed a book store, a photography studio, a café-bistro, a recording studio and a record label. From 1978 to 2008, The Business was located at 1717 Commercial Avenue; from 2008 to 2016 at 402 Commercial Avenue; and since 2016 it has been located at 216 Commercial Avenue. The store currently stocks new and used music releases on vinyl records, compact discs and audio cassettes, as well as music-oriented posters and original artworks. Hammock Music, based in Nashville, Tennessee, is the label imprint owned and operated by the band Hammock. The label is distributed by Secretly Distribution. ''Stranded Under Endless Sky'' is the first extended play by American ambient band Hammock. A follow-up to the band's first studio album, ''Kenotic'', ''Stranded Under Endless Sky'' was released on compact disc through the band's own label, Hammock Music, on July 26, 2005. A 140-gram 12" vinyl version was released earlier that month, on July 16, 2005, through Republic of Texas Recordings and Somewherecold Records; it was limited to 100 copies on clear vinyl and 900 copies on black vinyl. Hammock is an American ambient post-rock duo formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2005 by Marc Byrd and Andrew Thompson. Hammock have released 10 albums and five EPs since 2005, mostly on their own label, Hammock Music, which is distributed through Secretly Distribution, and have garnered favorable reviews from critics, including ''Pitchfork'' and AllMusic. Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. It is home to many well-known musical acts, including Underoath, Hawk Nelson, Emery, The Almost, FM Static, Family Force 5, Anberlin, and MxPx. Tooth & Nail's first album released was Wish for Eden's ''Pet the Fish'', which was produced by Michael Knott and originally slated to be released by Blonde Vinyl.
