Flat Ride
Amusement rides, sometimes called carnival rides, are mechanical devices or structures that move people especially kids to create fun and enjoyment. Rides are often perceived by many as being scary or more dangerous than they actually are. This could be due to the design or from hearing about accidents involving rides that are similar. They are expected at most annual events such as fairs, traveling carnivals, and circuses around the world. Sometimes music festivals and concerts also host amusement park rides. Types of rides * Flat rides are usually considered to be those that move their passengers in a plane generally parallel to the ground, such as rides that spin around a vertical axis, like carousels and twists, and ground level rides such as bumper cars and The Whip. * Gravity rides are those where gravity is responsible for all or some of the movement, and where any vertical movement is not about a fixed point, such as roller coasters, water slides, and drop towers. ...

The World Of Sid And Marty Krofft
The World of Sid and Marty Krofft was an entirely indoor amusement park in Atlanta, Georgia. It was based on the various TV shows produced by the sibling duo Sid and Marty Krofft. History The park was built in the Omni International complex with space to accommodate 6,000 visitors at any time. It opened with great fanfare on May 26, 1976, and was featured prominently at the host segments during the first season of the Saturday morning program ''Krofft Supershow''. While launched with much hoopla in the national press, and incorporating quality performances and entertainment options (many of the performers came from Los Angeles to perform in the park during its run), it suffered from poor attendance, never seeing more than 300,000 visitors, and was closed after six months, on November 10. The Kroffts partially blamed the park's failure on the fact that, at the time, downtown Atlanta was experiencing urban decay and close to major housing projects and generally was not considere ...

Seventeen episodes aired on Saturday mornings on ABC for two seasons, 1971–1973. The show was rebroadcast on NBC Saturday mornings the following season. The opening was shot at Six Flags Over Texas. Otherwise, the show was shot at Paramount Pictures film studio in Los Angeles. Production ''Lidsville'' resembles an earlier British series, ''Hattytown Tales'', produced by Hattyland Enterprises & FilmFair Ltd. in 1969, which used an almost identical concept but different characters and was produced in stop motion animation. Like predecessors '' H.R. Pufnstuf'' and ''The Bugaloos'', ''Lidsville'' ran for only one season (1971–1972), with reruns airing the ...

Rotor (ride)
The Rotor is an amusement ride designed and patented by German engineer Ernst Hoffmeister in 1948. The ride was first demonstrated at Oktoberfest 1949, and was exhibited at fairs and events throughout Europe, during the 1950s and 1960s. The ride still appears in numerous amusement parks, although travelling variants have been surpassed by the Gravitron. Design and operation The Rotor is a large, upright barrel, rotated at 33 revolutions per minute. The rotation of the barrel creates an inward acting centripetal force supplied by the wall's support's force, equivalent to almost 3 ''g''. Once the barrel has attained full speed, the floor is retracted, leaving the riders stuck to the wall of the drum. At the end of the ride cycle, the drum slows down and gravity takes over. The riders slide down the wall slowly. Most Rotors were constructed with an observation deck. Although Hoffmeister was the designer, most Rotors were constructed under license. In Australia, the Rotors were bu ...
