Simiyu Region (''Mkoa wa Simiyu'' in Swahili language, Swahili) is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative Regions of Tanzania, regions. The regional capital is the town of Bariadi. Simiyu Region is named after the Simiyu River. The region is home to the Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, shared with Mara Region. The region was created in March 2012, from part of Shinyanga Region. Shinyanga Region

Meatu District
Meatu District is one of the five districts of the Simiyu Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by the Itilima District, to the west by the Maswa District and Shinyanga Region to the east by the Arusha Region, to the southeast by the Manyara Region and to the south by the Singida Region. Its district capital is the town of Mwanhuzi. According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of Meatu District was 248,949. Maswa District
Maswa District is one of the five districts of the Simiyu Region of Tanzania Inhabited by Sukuma ( Nyantuzu People). It is bordered to the north by Magu District and Itilima District, to the east by the Meatu District, to the south by the Kishapu District, and to the west by the Kwimba District. Its administrative centre is the town of Maswa. According to the 2002 Tanzanian National Census, the population of Maswa District is 304,402.According to the 2012 Tanzania National Census, the population of Maswa District was 344,125. Transport The highway that connects Shinyanga Region and Mara Region (trunk road T36) passes through Maswa town. Itilima District
Itilima District is one of the five districts of Simiyu Region of Tanzania, East Africa. Its district capital is Lagangabilili. It is bordered to the north by Bariadi District, to the east by Ngorongoro District, to the south by Maswa District and Meatu District, and to the west by Magu District. Busega District
Busega District is one of the five districts of Simiyu Region of Tanzania, East Africa. Its administrative centre is the town of Nyashimo. It is bordered to the north by Lake Victoria and Bunda District, to the east by Bariadi District, and to the south by Magu District. As of 2012, the population of Busega was 203,597.
