Shiv Sena (UBT) Politicians
Shiv Sena (IAST: ''Śhiva Sēnā'') () is a right-wing Marathi regionalist and Hindu ultranationalist political party in India founded in 1966 by Bal Thackeray. Currently led by Eknath Shinde, this party is the ruling party of the Indian state of Maharashtra since 2019. Shiv Sena's election symbol is the ''Bow and Arrow.'' It uses the saffron colour in its flag and a image of a roaring tiger. Initially apolitical, the organisation was patronised by the then Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik who used it for curbing trade unions and maintain stranglehold of the Congress. The organisation at the same time carried out pro-Marathi nativist movement in Mumbai in which it agitated for preferential treatment for the Marathi people over migrants from other parts of India. Shrikant Shinde
Shrikant Eknath Shinde (born 4 February 1987) is a member of the 17th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Kalyan constituency of Maharashtra and is a member of the Shiv Sena political party. He is son of Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra(In 2022). At the time of his 2014 election win, he was a final-year Master's student of orthopaedics. Background and education Shinde is a qualified medical practitioner (MBBS followed by M.S. Orthopedics). He completed his M.S. from Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai. Shinde's family members includes his father, Eknath Shinde, mother Lata, wife Vrushali and son Rudransh. Right-wing populism, also called national populism and right-wing nationalism, is a political ideology that combines right-wing politics and populist rhetoric and themes. Economic Nationalism
Economic nationalism, also called economic patriotism and economic populism, is an ideology that favors state interventionism over other market mechanisms, with policies such as domestic control of the economy, labor, and capital formation, including if this requires the imposition of tariffs and other restrictions on the movement of labor, goods and capital. The core belief of economic nationalism is that the economy should serve nationalist goals. Economic nationalists oppose globalization or at least question the benefits of unrestricted free trade. Economic And Political Weekly
The ''Economic and Political Weekly'' (''EPW'') is a weekly peer-reviewed academic journal covering all social sciences, and is published by the Sameeksha Trust. In January 2018, academic Gopal Guru was named the new Editor of the journal. Guru will be Editor for a period of five years. The previous full-time editor was Paranjoy Guha Thakurta. The Trust had earlier appointed Guha Thakurta as the new editor of the journal with effect from 1 April 2016. Ultranationalism or extreme nationalism is an extreme form of nationalism in which a country asserts or maintains detrimental hegemony, supremacy, or other forms of control over other nations (usually through violent coercion) to pursue its specific interests.
