Burbanks is an abandoned town in Western Australia located between Coolgardie and Londonderry in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. Widgiemooltha, Western Australia
Widgiemooltha is an abandoned town in Western Australia east of Perth between Kambalda and Norseman in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. It is found on the southern shoreline of Lake Lefroy. The location of the original townsite is on Kingswood Street, which runs at the rear of the Widgiemooltha Roadhouse. The Coolgardie-Esperance Hwy now bypasses the original townsite. In August 2015, the only evidence of the original township was the remains of the hotel. In the 1890s gold was discovered in the area and the townsite was gazetted in 1897 as Widgemooltha, the spelling being amended to the current form in 1944. In 1898 the town had a population of 112 (100 males and 12 females). The name of the town is Aboriginal in origin and is thought to be the name of a nearby hill and rock-hole. Mungari, Western Australia
Mungari is a ghost town in Western Australia, located between Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. The town originated as a stop along the on the railway line between Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie and by 1897 lots were surveyed and a hotel was swiftly built. The name of the town was initially Mungarrie, but this was thought to be too close to the name of another mining town, Mulgarrie, so the spelling was altered to Mungarri. Kurrawang, Western Australia
Kurrawang is a town in Western Australia between Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie just off Great Eastern Highway in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia. The town was first established as a railway station in the early 1900s on the Eastern line to Kalgoorlie. The area was also a junction of the timber lines in the region. Firewood companies used the timber lines to collect firewood to provide the heat energy needed by condensers that were used to make potable water from saline water. Kundana is an abandoned town in Western Australia located between Coolgardie and Bardoc in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia. After 58 miners petitioned the government to have the townsite declared in 1896 the town was declared the following year. Kambalda is a small mining town about from the mining city of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, within the Goldfields. It is split into two townsites apart, Kambalda East and Kambalda West; and is located on the western edge of a giant salt lake, Lake Lefroy.
