Josaphat Park
Josaphat Park (french: Parc Josaphat, nl, Josaphatpark) is a public park of located in the municipality of Schaerbeek in Brussels, Belgium. The football stadium that was formerly used by the K.V.V. Crossing Elewijt lies on the north-western corner of the park. There is also an elementary school (Chazal school), a tennis club (R.T.C. Lambermont), the municipal greenhouses, animals (horses, donkeys, hen, ducks), two playgrounds, a minigolf course, an archery range, three cafés (La Laiterie, La Buvette Saint-Sebastiaan, and La Guinguette Populeir), a kiosk (Josaphine's), and some ponds. Bernard Clerfayt
Bernard Clerfayt (born 30 December 1961, in Uccle) is a Belgians, Belgian politician. He has been the mayor of Schaerbeek since 2001 and is currently vice-president of the Democratic Front of Francophones, Front Démocratique des Francophones (FDF). As is common in Belgium, he holds a dual mandate and has also been a member of the federal Belgian Chamber of Representatives since 2007. Clerfayt received a master's degree in economics from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) in 1986 while working as a research assistant at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven's Centre for Economic Studies (Centrum voor Economische Studien). Etterbeek ( French: ; Dutch: ) is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Kriek lambic is a style of Belgian beer, made by fermenting lambic with sour Morello cherries. Traditionally " Schaarbeekse krieken" (a rare Belgian Morello variety) from the area around Brussels are used. As the Schaarbeek type cherries have become more difficult to find, some brewers have replaced these (partly or completely) with other varieties of sour cherries, sometimes imported. Etymology The name is derived from the Dutch word for this type of cherry (kriek). Brewing Traditionally, kriek is made by breweries in and around Brussels using lambic beer to which sour cherries (with the pits) are added. A lambic is a sour and dry Belgian beer, fermented spontaneously with airborne yeast said to be native to Brussels; the presence of cherries (or raspberries) predates the almost universal use of hops as a flavoring in beer. Evere (, ) is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region (Belgium). On 1 January 2006, the municipality had a total population of 33,462.
