"Scattered" is a song by the British rock band The Kinks. Written by Ray Davies, "Scattered" appeared as the sixteenth track from their album '' Phobia'', and was the band's final original single (only to be followed by reissues of "You Really Got Me" and "Waterloo Sunset".) Background On its appearance on ''Phobia'', "Scattered" is dedicated to Annie Florence Davies (Ray Davies' mother) and Carol Bryans (a friend of Davies's.) Both died due to cancer. Ray Davies claimed that "Scattered" took ten years to write. Author Thomas Kitts believes that the song was initially inspired by Ray Davies' broken relationship with Pretenders leader Chrissie Hynde. Release "Scattered" was first released in Europe as a single in 1993, 21 days prior to the release of ''Phobia''. Brett "Ace" Young (born November 15, 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He gained national recognition while appearing on the fifth season of ''American Idol''. Young is married to ''American Idol'' season-three runner-up Diana DeGarmo. Biography Early years Young was raised in Boulder, Colorado and is the youngest of five sons. He began writing songs, singing, and taking voice lessons at age 9. In his youth he performed at shopping malls and recreation centers. He performed at various venues in Colorado and other western states, including performing the National Anthem at The Pepsi Center in Denver. Young graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado in 1999. While in high school he participated in athletics, choir, and International Baccalaureate classes. ''Nimrod'' (stylized as ''nimrod.'') is the fifth studio album by American rock band Green Day, released on October 14, 1997, by Reprise Records. The band began work on the album in the wake of the cancellation of a European tour after the release of their previous album, '' Insomniac''. "Scattered" is the first episode of the second season of the reimagined ''Battlestar Galactica'' television series. It aired originally on the Sci Fi Channel on July 15, 2005. In the episode, Commander William Adama is in critical condition following his shooting in the cliffhanger ending of the first season. '' Galactica'' is separated from the fleet during a Cylon attack, and Colonel Saul Tigh, now in command, must reunite them. Scattering is a term used in physics to describe a wide range of physical processes where moving particles or radiation of some form, such as light or sound, are forced to deviate from a straight trajectory by localized non-uniformities (including particles and radiation) in the medium through which they pass.
