Samuel Jerome Brown (March 7, 1845 – August 29, 1925), better known as Sam Brown, was an American frontiersman and settler in Minnesota and Dakota Territory. He earned regional fame as the "Paul Revere of the Prairie" or the "Prairie Paul Revere" for riding on the night of April 19–20, 1866, first to warn others of an expected Native American attack and—when the threat proved false—back through a spring blizzard to intercept his request for reinforcements from the U.S. Army. Though the ordeal left him dependent on a wheelchair for the rest of his life, he went on to serve as an educator, civic leader, advocate for Native Americans, and historian. Sam Brown (6 July 1831?, in Ohio? – 6 July 1861, in Nevada) was an American outlaw, reputed to have killed eleven men and often accused of being a coward and a bully, inclined to unprovoked violence when intoxicated. Mark Twain mentions "Sam Brown" among 11 names of notorious killers in Nevada during the 1860s. For a brief time, Sam Brown is alleged to have been the most notorious desperado in Virginia City. In the American West of that time, outlaws often used aliases and their exploits were often exaggerated by themselves and by tellers of tall tales. Newspaper accounts might have subordinated the truth to telling a good story, selling newspapers, and maintaining a good image for influential people, such as saloon keepers and lawyers. Ras Sam Brown (16 December 1925 – August 1998) was a Jamaican Rastafari elder. About He was well known in Kingston for his politics after he participated in the elections of 1961 with his Suffering People's Party. He received fewer than 100 votes. However, by being the first Rasta to ever stand for politics, his influence has been greater than this statistic suggests. At the time there was a generalised feeling in the Rastafarian movement that Rastas do not vote. Leonard E. Sam Brown (January 19, 1939 – December 27, 1977) was an American jazz guitarist. History Sam T. Brown's playing style was unusual in that he performed in a generally jazz-rock format, while performing in Keith Jarrett's ensembles that sometimes veered close to a free jazz style. His initial recording success included membership of the jazz rock group Ars Nova during the 1967-1969 period. Sam Brown (born February 10, 1996) is an American soccer player who plays as a central midfielder. Career College and amateur Brown attended and played four years of college soccer at Harvard University between 2014 and 2018, including a redshirted year in 2017. Brown tallied a total of 3 goals and 12 assists in 62 appearances for the Harvard Crimson.
