Sid Richardson College
Rice University contains eleven residential colleges which function as the primary housing, dining, and social organizations for undergraduate students. The system was established in 1957 and was inspired by the residential college systems at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge as well as the American adaptations of the same at Harvard and Yale. Each student is randomly affiliated with a residential college upon matriculation and becomes a lifetime member of the college. The residential college system takes the place of a Greek system and has contributed to a sense of community that other universities have sought to emulate. At academic ceremonies, including matriculation and commencement, the colleges proceed first with the four original colleges in the order Baker, Will Rice, Hanszen, and Wiess, followed by the other colleges in order of founding: Jones, Brown, Lovett, Sid Richardson, Martel, McMurtry, and Duncan. For the original four colleges, which were fo ...

Set Redundancy Compression
In computer science and information theory, set redundancy compression are methods of data compression In information theory, data compression, source coding, or bit-rate reduction is the process of encoding information using fewer bits than the original representation. Any particular compression is either lossy or lossless. Lossless compression ... that exploits redundancy between individual data groups of a set, usually a set of similar images. It is wide used on medical and satellital images. Ph.D. thesis, Department of Computer Science, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, La, USA The main methods are min-max differential, mín-máx predictive and centroid method. Methods Min-max differential In the ''min-max differential'' (or ''MMD''), for each position (pixel) selects the highest or the lowest. And then in each image is stored the difference of each of their positions with respect to the value previously selected. References {{reflist, 2 Data compression ...

The organization was formed in 2007 following the purchase of PRIDE FC by Zuffa. It operated in conjunction with the Japan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (JMM). The Sengoku championship was broadcast on Fuji TV and pay-per-view in Japan, and on HDNet in United States. Beginning with the December 31 show, Sengoku was known as Sengoku Raiden Championship. On March 12, 2011, it was reported that Don Quijote, a Japanese discount store chain serving as the primary sponsor of the promotion, had ceased all funding to WVR. Synchrotron Radiation Center
The Synchrotron Radiation Center (SRC), located in Stoughton, Wisconsin and operated by the University of Wisconsin–Madison, was a national synchrotron light source research facility, operating the Aladdin storage ring. From 1968 to 1987 SRC was the home of Tantalus, the first storage ring dedicated to the production of synchrotron radiation. History The Road to SRC: 1953–1968 15 universities formed the Midwest Universities Research Association (MURA) in 1953 to promote and design a high energy proton synchrotron, to be built in the Midwest. With the intent of constructing a large accelerator, MURA purchased a suitable area of land with an underlying flat limestone base near Stoughton, Wisconsin, about from the Madison campus of the University of Wisconsin.
