''Ihram'' ( ar, إِحْرَام, iḥrām, from the Semitic root root Ḥ-R-M) is, in Islam, a sacred state which a Muslim must enter in order to perform the major pilgrimage (''Ḥajj'') or the minor pilgrimage (''ʿUmrah'').
