Henley Royal Regatta
Henley Royal Regatta (or Henley Regatta, its original name pre-dating Royal patronage) is a rowing event held annually on the River Thames by the town of Henley-on-Thames, England. It was established on 26 March 1839. It differs from the three other regattas rowed over approximately the same course, Henley Women's Regatta, Henley Masters Regatta, and Henley Town and Visitors' Regatta, each of which is an entirely separate event. The regatta lasts for six days (Tuesday to Sunday) ending on the first weekend in July. Races are head-to-head knock out competitions, raced over a course of . The regatta regularly attracts international crews to race. The most prestigious event at the regatta is the Grand Challenge Cup for Men's Eights, which has been awarded since the regatta was first staged. Elio Morille
Elio Morille (7 September 1927 – 21 June 1998) was an Italian rower who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics and in the 1952 Summer Olympics. He was born in Alessandria in 1927. A worker at the Italian motorbike manufacturer Moto Guzzi based at their plant in Mandello del Lario, he became a member of the company's rowing team, Canottieri Moto Guzzi. A coxless four was formed with Giuseppe Moioli, Morille, Giovanni Invernizzi, and Franco Faggi. The first time they left their home training ground, Lake Como, was when they travelled to the 1947 European Rowing Championships in Lucerne, Switzerland. Little known in rowing circles, they unexpectedly won the gold medal in their boat class. Giuseppe Moioli
Giuseppe Moioli (born 8 August 1927) is an Italian Rowing (sport), rower who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics, in the 1952 Summer Olympics, and in the 1956 Summer Olympics. Moioli was born in Mandello del Lario, Olcio di Mandello Lario in 1927. Róbert Zimonyi
Róbert Zimonyi (18 April 1918 – 2 February 2004) was a Hungarian-born American rowing coxswain. He competed for Hungary in various events at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics and won a bronze medal in coxed pairs. After the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, he moved to the United States and became an American citizen in 1962. With American teams, he won an Olympic gold medal in 1964 and a European bronze medal in 1965, both in the eights, and a gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games in coxed fours.
