Rogatica ( sr-cyrl, Рогатица) is a town and municipality located in eastern Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, it has a population of 10,723 inhabitants, while the town of Rogatica has a population of 6,855 inhabitants. History In 1942, the Croatian fascist Ustaše regime slaughtered about 6,000 Serbs in Stari Brod near Rogatica and Miloševići. In 1990’s all of the majority Bosniak population was forces to flee due to Serb forces conducting an ethnic cleaning campaign with many Bosniaks raped and killed. Nezir Škaljić
Nezir Škaljić (23 February 1844 – 10 March 1905) was a Bosnian politician who served as the third Mayor of Sarajevo (1889–1905) Škaljić was a jurist, previously serving as judge of Bosnia's Supreme Court and President of the Commercial Court. His governance coincided with Austro-Hungarian rule of Bosnia. Škaljić was recipient of a first class 'Grand Cross' Imperial Austrian Order of Franz Joseph. As jurist and judge, Nezir Škaljić’s work left a mark on the South Slavic, Czech and Russian legal systems. Škaljić was a member of a three-member Commission that was preparing the reform of the judicial system in Habsburg occupied Bosnia and Herzegovina. Safet Zec
Safet Zec (born 5 December 1943) is a Bosnian painter and graphic designer.http://www.safetzec.com/?prj=25 Biography Safet Zec was born in the town of Rogatica to a Bosniak family, he graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo in 1964. In 1969 Safet Zec graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Belgrade, and then in 1972 completed his postgraduate studies at the same university. In the seventies, Safet Zec became one of the major exhibits of poetic realism. He was one of the most famous artists in Yugoslavia during the early nineties. Until 1989, he lived and worked in Belgrade with his family, he returned to Sarajevo the next year. He left the country in 1992 because of the Bosnian War, and fled to Udine, Italy. Ibrahim Šehić (; born 2 September 1988) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Süper Lig club Konyaspor and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Republika Srpska ( sr-Cyrl, Република Српска, lit=Serb Republic, also known as Republic of Srpska, ) is one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other being the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
