The band has released more than 40 full length albums, starred in a self-titled television series on CBS lasting two seasons, wrote and starred in an NPR syndicated radio drama Riders Radio Theater, and appeared in television series and films including as featured contributors to Ken Burns' ''Country Music''. Their family-friendly style also appeals to children, exemplified in their recordings for Disney and Pixar. They have won two Grammy Awards and have written and performed music for major motion pictures, including " Woody's Roundup" from ''Toy Story 2'' and Pixar's short film, '' For the Birds''. Riders In The Sky (David And The Giants Album)
David and the Giants began as a rock band in Laurel, Mississippi, with the Huff brothers David, Clayborn and Rayborn. Along with Jerry Parker on drums, they toured the Southeast during the 1960s. In 1977, they switched to a Christian rock format. They continued to sing and record together through 1999. Recording and performing together for almost 40 years, the band released 17 albums. Though the band's style has been compared to that of Mylon LeFevre and Broken Heart, their most commercially successful work came in the 1960s with a sound, augmented by The Muscle Shoals Horns, that closely resembled that of Jay & the Techniques. ''Riders of the Sky'' ( cs, Nebeští jezdci) is a Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovak movie directed by Jindřich Polák in 1968 about Czechoslovak pilots in No. 311 Squadron RAF service during the Battle of Britain, and the ongoing aerial battle in northern Europe. Production The movie is based on the 1964 novel ''Nebeští jezdci'' by Czech World War II RAF and Soviet Air Force air gunner Richard Husmann, writing as Filip Jánský. Part of the inspiration for the novel was the story of , No. 311 Squadron RAF gunner and later No. 312 (Czechoslovak) Squadron RAF pilot, and a member of Guinea Pig Club.
