The Guardian
''The Guardian'' is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in Manchester in 1821 as ''The Manchester Guardian'' and changed its name in 1959, followed by a move to London. Along with its sister paper, ''The Guardian Weekly'', ''The Guardian'' is part of the Guardian Media Group, owned by the Scott Trust Limited. The trust was created in 1936 to "secure the financial and editorial independence of ''The Guardian'' in perpetuity and to safeguard the journalistic freedom and liberal values of ''The Guardian'' free from commercial or political interference". Dingo Bar
The Dingo American Bar and Restaurant at 10 rue Delambre in the Montparnasse Quarter of Paris, France opened its doors in 1923. Most commonly called the Dingo Bar, it was one of the few drinking establishments at the time that was open all night. Cirque D'hiver
The Cirque d'Hiver ("Winter Circus"), located at 110 rue Amelot (at the juncture of the rue des Filles du Calvaire and rue Amelot, Paris 11th arrondissement of Paris, 11ème), has been a prominent venue for circuses, exhibitions of dressage, musical concerts, and other events, including exhibitions of Yağlı güreş, Turkish wrestling and even fashion shows. Philippe Legendre
Philippe Legendre was head chef of the Michelin three-star (2003-2007) restaurant Le Cinq at the George V Hotel in the 8th arrondissement in Paris, France. Biography Philippe Legendre was born in Vendée. He arrived in Paris at the age of 16 and began working in some of the city's great Parisian hotels and gastronomic establishments, such as the Sheraton, Lucas Carton, Ritz, and Taillevent, where he worked for 18 years. In 1999 Philippe Legendre became the head of the restaurant Le Cinq of the Hotel George V, where he was head of a brigade of 70 cooks. Le Cinq
Le Cinq () is a gourmet restaurant in Paris, France, part of the Four Seasons Hotel George V. Le Cinq opened in 2001 to much fanfare and rapidly achieved 1, 2, then 3 Michelin Red Guide stars under the direction of chef Philippe Legendre before being demoted to 2 stars. Chef Eric Briffard took over from 2008 until October 2014 when Christian Le Squer, formerly of the 3-star Michelin restaurant Ledoyen, became head chef. The restaurant regained its third Michelin star in 2016. Also in 2016, Le Squer was voted chef of the year. In April 2017, the food critic Jay Rayner published a negative review of Le Cinq in ''The Guardian'', rating the cuisine as poor except for the pastries and over-fond of acidity and spherification.
