Red Sea Governorate
Red Sea Governorate ( ar, محافظة البحر الأحمر ) is one of the 27 governorates (States) of Egypt. Located between the Nile and the Red Sea in the southeast of the country, its southern border forms part of Egypt's border with Sudan. Its capital and largest city is Hurghada. Municipal divisions The governorate is divided into municipal divisions with a total estimated population as of July 2017 of 361,480. In the case of Red Sea governorate, some are fully urban, some are fully rural, and some are a combination of rural and urban. Geography The Red Sea Governorate is bordered on the north by the Suez Governorate, to the east by the Red Sea, and to the west by the governorates of Aswan, Qena, Sohag, Asyut, al-Minya and Beni Suef. Aswān Governorate (Arabic: محافظة أسوان) is one of the governorates of Egypt. The southernmost governorate in Upper Egypt, covering most of Lake Nasser. The Governorate's capital is Aswan. Gebel Elba
Gabal Elba ( ar, جَبَل علْبَة ' , ), or Elba Mountain, is a peak and, in general, includes the associated mountainous area in the Halaib Triangle of Northeast Africa. Despite being claimed by both Egypt and Sudan, the area is currently under Egyptian control. Geography The higher peaks in the area are Gabal Elba itself (), Gabal Shellal (), Gabal Shendib () and Gabal Shendodai (). Average annual rainfall in the region is less than , but orographic precipitation in and around Gabal Elba itself amounts to as much as . in the upper areas. Siyal Islands
The Siyal Islands are a group of islands off the coast of northeastern Africa, located in the Red Sea. The islands are located in the Halaib Triangle, which is claimed by both Sudan and Egypt, as part of an ongoing border dispute. Halaib Triangle
The Halaib Triangle ( ar, مُثَلَّث حَلَايِب, Muthallath Ḥalāyib; Egyptian Arabic, Egyptian and Sudanese Arabic, Sudanese ' ), is an area of land measuring located on the Northeast African coast of the Red Sea.
