RWDM47 Players
Racing White Daring de Molenbeek 47, also known as RWD Molenbeek and often referred to as RWDM, is a Belgian professional football club founded in 1951 as Standaard Wetteren. In 2015, Wetteren folded and merged with another club, liberating the matricule which was sold to people wanting to revive the former RWDM with matricule 47 which folded in 2002. As such the new club was named RWDM47. The club has been on the rise ever since winning two consecutive promotions from the fifth tier to the fourth and fourth to third. In December 2021, the club announced that it had come under the ownership of American business executive John Textor, who also holds stakes in English side Crystal Palace, Brazilian side Botafogo and French side Lyon. RWDM's academy is considered one of the best in Belgium, and many footballers have come from there, notably Adnan Januzaj and Michy Batshuayi to name a few Belgian internationals as well as a few internationals for other countries. Standaard Wetteren was a Belgian association football club team from Wetteren. Its matricule (5479) still exists as it was sold to investors who created a new team, RWDM47. History The club was founded as an amateur club named Standaard Molenhoek. They changed their name to Football Club Standaard Wetteren in 1951 as they chose to register with the Belgian Football Association. Racing White Daring Molenbeek Brussels F.C., often simply referred to as RWDM Brussels, F.C. Brussels or simply Brussels was a Belgian association football club based in the municipality of Molenbeek in the Brussels Capital-Region. They last played in the second division during the 2013–14 season where they finished 8th, but folded at the end of the season due to financial trouble. The club was a continuation of FC Strombeek, a club from the Brussels suburb of Strombeek-Bever with ''matricule'' №1936 which was formed in 1932. Kylian Hazard (; born 5 August 1995) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for RWDM. He has two older brothers, Eden and Thorgan, and one younger, Ethan, all of whom are footballers. Early life Hazard was born in La Louvière and grew up in Braine-le-Comte. His mother, Carine, and father, Thierry, were both footballers playing in Belgium. His father spent most of his career playing as a semi-professional for La Louvière in the Belgian Second Division. Glenn Claes (born 8 March 1994) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for RWDM in the Belgian First Division B. Professional career Born in Lier, Claes started playing football at Lyra at an early age, until the local professional club, Lierse, scouted him to their academy. On 18 March 2012, Claes made his senior debut for the club when he was in the starting lineup against Mons, before being substituted in the 77th minute in the 1–1 draw. Luke Elliot Plange (born 4 November 2002) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Lincoln City on loan from club Crystal Palace. Club career A youth product of Arsenal since the age of 6, Plange moved to Derby County on 21 March 2021.
