Presidential Leadership Council
The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC; ar, مجلس القيادة الرئاسي) is the executive body of Yemen's internationally-recognized government, formed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by a presidential decree on 7 April 2022, to seek a "comprehensive political solution" to the Yemeni civil war. It is headed by Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi and has a membership of eight members. All the powers of the president and vice president have been transferred to this council. Emblem Of Yemen
The national emblem of Yemen depicts a golden eagle of Saladin with a scroll between its claws. On the scroll is written the name of the country in ar, الجمهورية اليمنية or ("The Yemeni Republic"). The chest of the eagle contains a shield that depicts a coffee plant and the Marib Dam, with seven blue wavy stripes below. The flagstaffs on the right and left of the eagle hold the flag of Yemen. Historical emblems North Yemen From 1945 to 1990, Yemen was split into Yemen Arab Republic, North and People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, South. The North had an emblem more similar to the present day one, and its shield has similarities with the shield of the former Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen. Marib Governorate
Marib ( ar, مَأْرِب, Maʾrib) is a governorate of Yemen. It is located 173 kilometers to the northeast of Yemen's capital, Sana'a. The population of Marib Governorate comprises 1.2% of the country's total population. The city of Marib is the capital of the governorate, and was established after the discovery of oil deposits in 1984. Marib Governorate borders Al Jawf Governorate to the north, Al Bayda Governorate to the south, Shabwah Governorate to the southeast, Hadhramaut Governorate to the east, and Sana'a Governorate to the west. Marib Governorate's area is approximately , divided among 14 districts. Marib District is the biggest district by area. Marib's population in 2004 was 241,619. Consultation And Reconciliation Commission
Consultation and Reconciliation Commission () is a Yemeni governmental body formed by President Abdrabbo Mansour Hadi on 7 April 2022. The commission's goal is to support the Presidential Leadership Council and work to unify the objectives of the various national forces and components. Membership The commission is composed of fifty members led by Mohammed al-Ghaithi, head of the Southern Transitional Council's foreign affairs department; and vice-chairpersons Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi, Sakhr Al-Wajeeh, Jamilah Ali Rajaa and Akram al-Amiri. Hadhramaut Governorate
Hadhramaut or Hadramawt or Hadramout ( ar, حضرموت ''Ḥaḍramawt'') is a governorate of Yemen. Lying within the large historical region of Hadhramaut, it is the country's largest governorate. The capital of Hadhramut is the city of Mukalla. Other cities in Hadhramaut include the historical towns of Shibam, Sena, Seiyun, Tarim, and Ash Shihr. The Socotra Archipelago was transferred from the Adan Governorate to the Hadhramaut Governorate in 2004. It was subsequently separated to form the newly created Soqatra Governorate in December 2013. Southern Transitional Council
The Southern Transitional Council (STC; ''al-Majlis al-Intiqālī l-Janūbiyy'') is a secessionist organization in South Yemen. The 26 members of the STC include the governors of five southern governorates and two government ministers. It was formed by a faction of the Southern Movement, also known as ''al-Hirak al-Janoubi''. The Southern Movement was established in 2007, during the term of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, and it has called for and worked toward the separation of southern Yemen from the rest of the nation (as it previously was until 1990). Declared on 11 May 2017, the council is headed by the former Governor of Aden, Aidarus al-Zoubaidi, as president, with former minister of state Hani Bin Breik as vice-president. Major General Aidarous Qassem AbdulaAziz Al-Zubaidi (Arabic: عَيْدَرُوْس قاسم عبد العزيز الزُّبَيْدي) is the Vice President within the Yemen Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and president of the Southern Transitional Council and the de facto leader of the Southern Movement in Yemen. Abdullah Al-Alimi Bawazeer (born 1979) is a Yemeni politician and member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council. Abdullah was born in Bayhan, Shabwah governorate. The Salafi movement or Salafism () is a reform branch movement within Sunni Islam that originated during the nineteenth century. Giants Brigades
The Southern Giants Brigades (), transliterated as Al Amalikah or Al Amaliqah, or simply known as the Giants Brigades, is a Cabinet of Yemen, pro-government Yemeni militia. Its fighters are mostly South Yemeni tribesmen from Lahij Governorate, Lahej, Abyan Governorate, Abyan and Dhale Governorate, Dhale.
