Portugal International Footballers
This is a list of players who earned 25 or more caps for the Portugal national football team. For all players who have played for Portugal, see :Portugal international footballers. As of March 2022, 116 players have reached this milestone for Portugal. The record for the most caps is held by Cristiano Ronaldo, with 190 caps since 2003; he overtook Luís Figo's record of 127 caps in June 2016. The only other players with a century of caps are Fernando Couto, Nani, João Moutinho, Pepe and Rui Patrício; Patrício is also the most capped Portuguese goalkeeper, with 102 international matches played since 2010. The first player to reach 25 caps was Xico, in his final appearance on 17 June 1951. The most recent player to gain their 25th cap was Rúben Neves, on 12 October 2021. FIFA Confederations Cup
The FIFA Confederations Cup was an international association football tournament for men's national teams, held every four years by FIFA. It was contested by the holders of each of the six continental championships (AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, and UEFA), along with the current FIFA World Cup holder and the host nation, to bring the number of teams up to eight. Between 2001 and 2017 (with an exception in 2003), the tournament was held in the country that would host the World Cup the following year, acting as a test event for the larger tournament. Eusébio
Eusébio da Silva Ferreira (; 25 January 1942 – 5 January 2014), nicknamed the "Black Panther", the "Black Pearl" or "O Rei" ("The King"), was a Portuguese footballer who played as a striker. He is considered one of the greatest players of all time as well as Benfica's best player ever. He was known for his speed, technique, athleticism and his ferocious right-footed shot, making him a prolific goalscorer, in which he scored 733 goals in 745 matches. Tiago Cardoso Mendes (; born 2 May 1981), known simply as Tiago, is a Portuguese football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. Tamagnini Manuel Gomes Batista (born 20 November 1949), known as Nené (), is a retired Portuguese professional footballer. A prolific striker, he played his entire career with Benfica, appearing in nearly 600 official games for the club and winning 19 titles, a record for several years. Playing 66 times for Portugal and scoring 22 goals, Nené represented the nation at Euro 1984. Club career Born in Leça da Palmeira, Nené made his professional debuts with S.L. Benfica in 1968, and remained a key fixture with the club until his retirement almost twenty years later, at nearly 37. João Domingos da Silva Pinto (born 21 November 1961) is a Portuguese former footballer and manager. Having spent his entire professional career with Porto (16 years, winning a total of 24 major titles, including nine leagues and the 1987 European Cup), he is regarded as one of the greatest Portuguese right-backs of all-time. Pinto represented the Portugal national team for more than one decade, appearing with them in one World Cup and one European Championship. Anderson Luís de Souza (born 27 August 1977), known as Deco (), is a retired professional footballer who primarily played as an attacking or central midfielder. During 18 years as a senior he never played in the Primeira Liga, having spent 12 of those campaigns in Spain and France.
