Pol-ka Producciones is a television and film production company in Buenos Aires, Argentina, commonly referred to as Pol-ka. The company was launched in 1994 and is owned by Adrián Suar, Fernando Blanco and Artear (Clarín Group). The first television show produced by the firm was ''Poliladron'' (1994). After producing a series of hits for Canal 13 (Argentina), Canal 13, Adrián Suar became the programming director of the channel. The production company is responsible for the fictions the channel airs in prime time. Polka
Polka is a dance and genre of dance music originating in nineteenth-century Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic. Though associated with Czech culture, polka is popular throughout Europe and the Americas. ''Epitafios'' ( en, Epitaphs) is a 2004 13-episode, Argentinian crime fiction TV mini-series with the tagline: ''El Final Está Escrito ... The End Is Written''. The series, which takes place in an unnamed South American city, was shot in Buenos Aires. The series was produced by HBO Latin America and Argentinian TV/ film company Pol-Ka Producciones. It was written by Marcelo Slavich and Walter Slavich and directed by Alberto Lecchi and Jorge Nisco. Although all of the actors were Argentinian, a neutral Spanish was used instead of the local Rioplatense Spanish, avoiding colloquialisms such as the local ''vos'' in favor of the more common ''tú''. The series debuted in Australia on SBS in May 2007 under the title ''If The Dead Could Speak''. It premiered in Poland on Cinemax on November 6, 2008. ''Sin código'' ( es, Without rules) was an Argentine telenovela that aired from 2004 to 2006 on the El Trece television network. It was produced by Pol-Ka, and the main actors were Adrián Suar, Nancy Dupláa, and Nicolás Cabré. It was nominated in several categories for the Martín Fierro Awards in 2004, 2005, and 2006, and won three times in 2005. Plot Gabriel Nielsen (Suar) and Oso (Antonio Grimau) have a private security company known as Nielsen Security. Axel (Cabré), the son of Oso, wants to join it but he is rejected. When Oso is murdered, Gabriel and Axel join forces to capture the criminal. In the second season, most employees resign, and policewoman Antonia López (Dupláa) joins the agency.
