Pocket Athletic Conference
The Pocket Athletic Conference (PAC) is a high school athletic conference in Southwestern Indiana with its headquarters at Forest Park. Most of the conference's 13 members are mainly Class 2A and 3A public high schools currently located in Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, and Warrick counties. Only one, Tecumseh, is a 1A and as such operates its football program independently of the PAC and remains independent in the sport, playing schools much closer to its size than its much larger borderline 3A, 3A, or 4A fellow members. History The Pocket Athletic Conference was established in 1938 with nine founding schools: Cannelton, Chrisney, Lynnville, Mount Vernon, Owensville, Petersburg, Poseyville, Rockport, and Tell City. Seven of the nine original schools remain members in some form today. Cannelton left in 1971 and is now an independent. Daviess County is a County (United States), county in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 31,648. The county seat is Washington, Indiana, Washington. About 15% of the county's population is Amish of Swiss Americans, Swiss origin, as of 2017. History After the American Revolutionary War was settled, the fledgling nation created the Northwest Territory, tentatively divided into two counties. North Posey Senior High School is a public high school located in Poseyville, Indiana. North Posey is the high school for the MSD of North Posey County, which includes Bethel, Robb, Smith, Harmony, Center and Robinson Townships in Posey County, Indiana. Wadesville High School
Wadesville is an unincorporated community in northern Center Township, Posey County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. It lies along State Road 66 northeast of the city of Mt. Vernon, the county seat of Posey County. Its elevation is 479 feet (146 m). Although Wadesville is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 47638. History Wadesville was laid out in 1852. The community was named for the Wade family of settlers. A post office has been in operation at Wadesville since 1855. Interstate 64 (I-64) in the US state of Indiana is a major east–west highway providing access between Illinois and Kentucky. It passes through southern Indiana as part of its connection between the two metropolitan areas of St Louis, Missouri, and Louisville, Kentucky. Big Eight Conference (Indiana)
The Big Eight Conference was an athletic conference of IHSAA Class AAA high schools located in Southwestern Indiana. The conference members were small city-based schools located in Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Posey, and Warrick counties in Indiana and once included Wabash County in Illinois. The Southern Indiana Athletic Conference (SIAC) is a high school athletic conference based in Evansville, Indiana. Rockport High School (Indiana)
Rockport High School is a public high school in Rockport, Massachusetts. History Rockport has had four different high school buildings. The Old Rockport High School was built in 1865 and now serves as the Rockport Community Center. The second building, located at 4 Broadway, was built in 1925 and served the school system in a variety of capacities until 1988. That structure was designed by the architecture firm J. Williams Beal, Sons. The high school was moved in the 1960s to the George Tarr School, a converted 1904 textile mill building, adjacent to the 1925 building.
