Pinoy Dream Academy
''Pinoy Dream Academy'' (also known as PDA) is the Philippine version of Endemol's ''Operación Triunfo'' (Operation Triumph). The format is similar to Big Brother, where a set number of finalists (billed as "scholars" throughout the series) would live inside the Academy for four months and will be trained by guest teachers to be multimedia performers. Activities in the Academy are being monitored 24/7 by the headmaster. It uses the tagline ''Ang drama sa likod ng pangarap'' (The drama behind the dream). The program is aired through ABS-CBN. ABS-CBN affiliate Studio 23 airs a ''companion program'' under the same title. It is a separate show from the flagship station that will feature scenes that were not shown on the main program and has different hosts. Jim Paredes
Jaime Ramon Misa Paredes, better known simply as Jim Paredes (), is a Filipino singer, composer, television host, writer and actor. He is known as one of the members of popular musical trio APO Hiking Society (along with Danny Javier and Boboy Garovillo). He is the son of Ester Paredes Jimenez, a staunch martial law activist. Paredes' most prominent solo work, ''Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo'', became the anthem of the peaceful People Power Revolution that overthrew the regime of Ferdinand Marcos. It was participated in by 15 Filipino artists in April of that year, and its English version "''A New and Better Way''" was launched in Australia a few months after. Raimund Emmanuel Parcon Marasigan (born May 22, 1971) is a Filipino rock musician and record producer. His first name is often misspelled ''Raymond'' or ''Raimond'' though he personally prefers to spell his name as Raymund. Sandwich (stylized as <S>andwich in earlier releases) is a Filipino alternative rock band from the Philippines. The band consists of lead vocalist Raymund Marasigan, guitarists and backing vocalists Diego Castillo and Mong Alcaraz, bassist Myrene Academia and drummer Mike Dizon. The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group and one of the pillars of Original Pilipino Music (Original Pilipino Music, OPM) composed of Danny Javier†, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garrovillo.
