Pemagatshel District
Pemagatshel is one of the 20 districts of Bhutan. Language Native speak Tshangla (Sharchopkha), an East Bodish language that is the ''lingua franca'' of eastern Bhutan. Population Pemagatshel district, as of 2005, had a population of 13,864. In February 2011, some 42 households in remote areas of Pemagatshel were slated for relocation closer to population centers in order to provide better access to resources, both natural and governmental. Proponents for this move cited Gross National Happiness as a reason to improve living standards through relocation. This model, if successful, would be replicated in Haa and Lhuentse Districts. Royal Manas National Park
Royal Manas National Park is Bhutan's oldest national park, and the Royal government considers it the "conservation showpiece of the Kingdom" and a "genetic depository" for valuable plants. It has an area of and covers eastern Sarpang District, the western half of Zhemgang District, and western Pemagatshel District. It is connected via "biological corridors" to Phibsoo Wildlife Sanctuary, Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Phrumsengla National Park, and Jomotsangkha Wildlife Sanctuary. Nanong Gewog
Nanong Gewog (Dzongkha: ན་ནོང་) is a gewog (village block) of Pemagatshel District, Bhutan. Nanong Gewog (county) has 55 villages and 526 households with 2351 population. It has an area of 81.04 square kilometers. The gewog has moderate cold temperate climate. The dry land cultivation dominates agriculture land use and paddy cultivation is minimal. Maize is the main cereals and potato, orange, ginger and sugarcane are grown for cash income. Its potential exist for horticulture development in ginger, sugarcane, groundnut, orange and cereal crops like mustard, millet, buckwheat and maize. The establishment of piggery and poultry farms is also possible.
