Pamplemousses SC Players
Pamplemousses () is a district of Mauritius, located in the north west of the island, and is one of the most densely populated parts of the island. The name of the district comes from the French word for grapefruits. The district has an area of 178.7 km2 and the population estimate was at 139,966 as of 31 December 2015. Places of interest The district hosts the SSR botanical garden, or Jardin Botanique Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, renamed in 1988 in honor of the first prime minister of Mauritius. The garden was first constructed by Pierre Poivre (1719–1786) in 1770. The area is 25 hectares. The garden features spices, ebonies, sugar canes and many more. It also features lotuses as well as 85 varieties of palms from Central America, Asia, Africa and the islands around the Indian Ocean. Grand Baie
Grand Baie (or sometimes Grand Bay) is a coastal village in Mauritius located in the Rivière du Rempart District, but the western part also lies inside the Pamplemousses District. The village is administered by the Grand Baie Village Council under the aegis of the Rivière du Rempart District Council. Belle Vue Harel
Belle Vue Harel is a village in Mauritius that is located in the Pamplemousses District on the northern part of the island. It is located next to Plaine des Papayes village. It is part of the larger Plaine des Papayes area which as of 2011 had 7,607 inhabitants. The village is the site of the Stade Anjalay, which is a prominent football venue for the nation, with the national football team and two top division teams (Pamplemousses SC, AS Rivière du Rempart) being resident. Athletics is also accommodated at the stadium and the 1992 African Championships in Athletics was held in the village. Baie-du-Tombeau
Baie-du-Tombeau is a village in Mauritius located in the Pamplemousses District, situated near the Rivière du Tombeau. The village is administered by the Baie-du-Tombeau Village Council under the aegis of the Pamplemousses District Council. According to the census made by Statistics Mauritius in 2011, the population was at 14,687. Baie-Tombeau was home to HMS Mauritius, a Royal Navy wireless station. The bay itself faces west to North-West and has 3 km of coral reef protecting a shallow lagoon and sandy beaches stretching from Rivulet Terre rouge bird sanctuary to the Tombeau river's estuary at Le goulet.
