Pacific Lutheran University
Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) is a private Lutheran university in Parkland, Washington. It was founded by Norwegian Lutheran immigrants in 1890. PLU is sponsored by the 580 congregations of Region I of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. PLU has approximately 3,100 students enrolled. As of 2017, the school employs approximately 220 full-time professors on the woodland campus. PLU consists of the College of Arts and Sciences (including of the Divisions of Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences), the School of Arts and Communication, the School of Business, the School of Education and Kinesiology, and the School of Nursing. Tina Turner (born Anna Mae Bullock; November 26, 1939) is an American-born Swiss retired singer and actress. Nils Joseph Hong
Nils Joseph Hong (7 February 18661939) was a teacher of Norwegian descent. He was president of the Pacific Lutheran Academy 1898–1918. Early life and education Hong was born on February 7, 1866, to Norwegian parents Thore Olsen Hong and Helen Nilsdatter Brendum Hong in Westby, Wisconsin. The family moved to Minnesota when he was a child. He attended the Willmar Seminary in Minnesota at various times from 1881 to 1892. When not attending school, Hong taught at parochial and public schools. He graduated from Luther College in 1895, and returned to Willmar Seminary as an instructor. He married Mary W Wiborg in 1898. Carl XVI Gustaf (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus; born 30 April 1946) is King of Sweden. He ascended the throne on the death of his grandfather, Gustaf VI Adolf, on 15 September 1973.
