POSCO TJ Park Prize
POSCO TJ Park Prize is an annual award presented by the POSCO TJ Park Foundation in four categories; science, education, community development and philanthropy, and technology. The science prize is given to Korean scientists in natural science or engineering. The education prize, community development and philanthropy prize, and technology prize are given to an individual and/or an organization. Only the community development and philanthropy prize is not retricted by nationality. Recommendations are received from June to September, cadidates are screened from October to December, the winners are announced in January and the prize presentation ceremony happens in April. South Korean Won
The Korean Republic won, unofficially the South Korean won ( Symbol: ₩; Code: KRW; Korean: 대한민국 원) is the official currency of South Korea. A single won is divided into 100 jeon, the monetary subunit. The jeon is no longer used for everyday transactions, and it appears only in foreign exchange rates. The currency is issued by the Bank of Korea, based in the capital city of Seoul. Etymology The old "won" was a cognate of the Chinese yuan and Japanese yen, which were both derived from the Spanish-American silver dollar. It is derived from the hanja (, ''won''), meaning "round", which describes the shape of the silver dollar. The won was subdivided into 100 ''jeon'' (), itself a cognate of the Chinese unit of weight mace and synonymous with money in general. Bina Swadaya (''Yayasan Pengembangan Swadaya Masyarakat'') is a large Indonesian NGO focused on development. History Bina Swadaya was founded by the ''Ikatan Petani Pancasila'' (Pancasila Farmers Association) on 24 May 1967. It was initially named the ''Yayasan Sosial Tani Membangun'' (Peasant Socio-economic Development Foundation). Eunjoon Kim
Eunjoon Kim is a professor of KAIST and director of Center for Synaptic Brain Dysfunctions within the Institute for Basic Science (IBS). His current research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying autism spectrum disorders and synaptic brain dysfunctions. Cheon Jinwoo is the H.G. Underwood Professor at Yonsei University and the Director of the Center for Nanomedicine, Institute for Basic Science (IBS).
