CSKA Sofia ( bg, ЦСКА София) is a Bulgarian professional association football club based in Sofia and currently competing in the country's premier football competition, the First League. ''CSKA'' is an abbreviation for ''Central Sports Club of the Army'' ( bg, Централен Спортен Клуб на Армията). Officially established on 5 May 1948, CSKA's roots date back to an army officers' club founded in 1923. The club has won a record 31 Bulgarian titles and 21 Bulgarian Cups. Internationally, CSKA are the only Bulgarian club to have reached the semi-finals of the European Cup, which they have done twice, and they have also reached the semi-final of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup once. Stadion Balgarska Armia ( bg, Стадион „Българска Армия“, en, 'Balgarska Armia Stadium', ) is the club stadium of the Bulgarian association football, football club CSKA Sofia. Vladimir Dimitrov Stoychev ( bg, Владимир Димитров Стойчев, 24 March 1892 – 27 April 1990) was a Bulgarian Colonel General, diplomat and Olympic equestrian. Biography Vladimir Stoychev was born in Sofia, the capital of the Principality of Bulgaria. He graduated from the Theresian Military Academy in Vienna, and the Military School and the Military Academy in Sofia. As a serviceman in the Bulgarian Army, Stoychev participated in the Balkan Wars and World War I. In the interwar period, Stoychev represented Bulgaria in the equestrian events at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris and the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, among other competitions. From 1930 to 1934, Stoychev was a Bulgarian attaché in France and the United Kingdom. PFC Spartak Plovdiv ( bg, ПФК Спартак Пловдив) is a Bulgarian football club based in Plovdiv, which currently plays in the third tier of Bulgarian football, the Third Amateur Football League (Bulgaria), Third League. Stefan Bozhkov
Stefan Bozhilov Stefanov ( bg, Стефан Божилов Стефанов; 20 September 1923 – 1 February 2014) was a Bulgarian football player and coach. He usually played the position of midfielder. Career Born in Sofia, Bozhkov first started to play for a local team Sportist Hadzhi Dimitar. He made his debut on 20 September 1938, on his 15th birthday, in a game against Fortuna. During his club career he played for PFC CSKA Sofia. Bozhkov won the top Bulgarian league, the A PFG, a ten times (all with CSKA), as well as the Bulgarian Cup, three times (all with CSKA). He earned 53 caps and scored 4 goals for the Bulgaria national football team from 1946 to 1958, and won a bronze medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Dimitar Milanov Stoyanov ( bg, Димитър Миланов Стоянов; 18 October 1928 – 1995) was a Bulgarian international footballer who played as a right winger. Manol Manolov ( bg, Манол Манолов) (4 August 1925 – 16 December 2008) was a Bulgarian football defender and manager. He was born in Sofia. Manolov featured in 57 games for the Bulgaria national football team and won a bronze medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Between 1948 and 1962 he played in 239 matches and scored 8 goals for CSKA Sofia. He was honoured as Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 1958.
