Overwatch World Cup
The Overwatch World Cup (OWWC) is an annual international ''Overwatch'' esports tournament organized by Blizzard Entertainment, the game's developer, with the first edition taking place in 2016. The tournament ran every year until 2019; after a three-year hiatus, the OWWC will return in 2023. The tournament format has varied in each year, with the most recent one involving a preliminary stage in which national teams competed against others in a single-elimination tournament system to claim the five qualification spots in the group stages, which also included five national teams who prequalified via ranking. Top-ranked teams from the group stage advanced to a single-elimination playoff bracket at Blizzard's BlizzCon event every November. Mercy (Overwatch)
Mercy is a fictional player character developed by Blizzard Entertainment for their ''Overwatch'' franchise. She was introduced at launch in their 2016 first-person hero shooter video game of the same name and again appeared in its 2022 sequel, ''Overwatch 2''. Mercy has also featured in its related animated and literary media. Lucie Pohl voices Mercy in English-language ''Overwatch'' media. Within the ''Overwatch'' narrative, "Mercy" is the callsign of Swiss doctor Angela Ziegler, who provided key medical support for the original Overwatch group. In-game, she is a Support class character who can heal and buff teammates and resurrect fallen teammates. Hanzo (Overwatch)
is a playable character appearing in the 2016 video game ''Overwatch'', a first-person shooter video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Outside of ''Overwatch'', Hanzo also appears in related media, which includes animated shorts and webcomics, as well as a playable character in the crossover multiplayer online game ''Heroes of the Storm''. He appeared again in ''Overwatch 2'', a 2022 sequel to the original game. The character is Japanese and the eldest brother of fellow playable character, Genji. The two brothers belonged to the Shimada clan, a fictional Japanese crime family. In his backstory, Hanzo was forced by the clan's elders to kill Genji. The dutiful but heartbroken Hanzo subsequently denounced his family and fled Japan to travel the world, seeking redemption from the actions of his past.
