Ostoja-Ostaszewski is a Polish noble family which had a number of residences in pre-war Poland, among others a palace in Kraków and a castle in Wzdów. It belongs to the medieval Clan of Ostoja, influential in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Hungary and Ukraine. Maja Ostaszewska
Maja Ostaszewska (born 3 September 1972) is a Polish actress. Biography She was born in Kraków, the daughter of Polish musician Jacek Ostaszewski, of the Ostoja Clan. Ostaszewska was raised Buddhist. She started her acting training in her native Kraków and later graduated from the PWST in 1996. She has since acted mostly at the Teatr Rozmaitości in Warsaw, working with well-known Polish directors such as Krystian Lupa, Krzysztof Warlikowski and Grzegorz Jarzyna. In 1993, during her acting training, she played a small role in Steven Spielberg's ''Schindler's List'', although her actual real film debut was in 1997 with the TV movie "Przystań." For this role, she received the Best Actress Award at the Polish Film Festival held in Gdynia in 1998. Ostaszewska played one of the main characters in Academy Award-nominated Andrzej Wajda's '' Katyń''. Piotr Ostaszewski (born 5 April 1964, Żyrardów) is a Polish historian, political scientist and translator. Since 24 September 2017 serving as an ambassador to South Korea. Life Piotr Ostaszewski was born on 5 April 1964 in Żyrardów. Ostaszewski sat for an M.A. and Ph.D. in history at the University of Warsaw respectively in 1990 and 1998 for his thesis on Harry S. Truman's policy toward Vietnam. In 2004 he attained a post-doctoral degree at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In 2013 he became a full professor. He specializes in 20th-century international relations in Asia. Between 1990 and 2000 he worked at the University of Warsaw American Studies Center.
