Oron People
The Oron people (or Örö people) are a multi-ethnic tribal grouping that make up the Akpakip Oro or Oron Nation. The Oron people (Örö) are located primarily in southern Nigeria in the riverine area of Akwa Ibom State and Cross River State and in Cameroon. Akpakip Oro are regarded as an ancient warrior people, speaking the Oron (Oro language, Oro) language which is in the Cross River language family of the Benue–Congo languages. They are ancestrally related to the Efik people of the Cross River State, the Ibeno and Eastern Obolo (ie Adoni East) in Akwa Ibom, the Andoni people in Rivers State, the Balondo Civilization, Balondo-ba-Konja in the Congo Basin, Congo. Oron Nation
The Oron Nation (Akpakip Oro) was a sovereign and egalitarian society from until 1914 when it was forcibly incorporated into Nigeria. The Oron people share a strong ancestral lineage with the Efik people in Cross River State, Nigeria. Related indigenous groups include the Uruan, Ibeno, and Obolo people, Andoni people (the Obolo), located in both in Akwa Ibom State and in Rivers State, along with the Balondo Civilization, Balondo-ba-Konja. The Oron people are a major ethnic group still present in Akwa Ibom. History By 1200, the Oro people, consisting of six ethnic tribal groups, had settled on the mouth of the Cross River (Nigeria), Cross River basin, and had become a society ruled by tribal chiefs. The Oro Nation elevated its first king to power in the late 1200s, when a legendary hunter from the Oro Nation known as Ahta aya-Arah went out on a safari and failed to return. Oron Language
Oro (Oron) is a Lower Cross River language of Nigeria. The phonemes of Oron comprise seven oral vowels í, ε, e, a, o, ɔ, u, five plosive consonants b, kp, d, t, k, three nasal consonants m, ŋ, n, three fricative consonants f, s, h, two semi-vowel consonants w, y and one lateral consonant l. The lateral consonant is an unusual feature of Oro and it is not found in most neighbouring varieties. Kapylyushi
Kapylyushi () or Kapylyushy is a body of fresh water in the Bauntovsky District, Buryatia, Russia. The name originated in an Evenki word. The lake is located in the northwestern corner of the Vitim Plateau, near the left bank of river Tsipikan, of the Vitim river basin. Together with lake Baunt it belongs to the "Tsipo-Tsipikansky" (Ципо-Ципиканских) lake group —after rivers Tsipa and Tsipikan, which is also known as Bauntovsky (Баунтовских) —after lake Baunt. The study of the whole lake area began only in the 1930s in the course of an expedition of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Research Institute of Freshwater Fisheries of the USSR.
