Peel Avengers
Niagara Lock Monsters are a Canadian professional indoor lacrosse team that play in the Canadian Lacrosse League. The Lock Monsters play out of the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. History The Peel Avengers were founded in the summer of 2011 in Brampton, Ontario. The Avengers played their first game ever on January 7, 2012 in Hagersville, Ontario. The Avengers defeated Durham TurfDogs 16-9 to pick up their first win in franchise history. The Avengers would finish the 2012 campaign with a 5-9 record landing them in last place with only 10 pts. The Avengers did not qualify for the post season. In the summer of 2012, the team was moved to St. Catharines and renamed the Niagara Lock Monsters. Chris Thomas (born 1980) is an American professional basketball coach, currently serving as an assistant coach at Long Island University. He has also been named coach of the Guaynabo Mets of the Liga de Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He has experience assisting for several college basketball teams, most notably the Miami RedHawks, and the Slovenia national basketball team. Dave Magley
David John Magley (born November 24, 1959) is a retired American basketball player and coach. He is currently the president of The Basketball League after serving as commissioner of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC). Prior to becoming an NBLC executive, Magley was head coach of Bradenton Christian School in Bradenton, Florida, for 11 years and then led the Brampton A's for two seasons. He played basketball at South Bend LaSalle High School. Following his senior year, Magley was named Indiana Mr. Basketball, beating Randy Wittman and Ted Kitchel for the award, and was selected to the Academic All-State and Parade All American teams. Dave was drafted with the fifth pick in the second round of the 1982 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. History In the late 1950s, the Bramalea development began, under the oversight of Bayton Holdings Ltd., then Bramalea Consolidated Developments Limited. An attempt at a self-contained community, the "satellite city" included industrial parks, shopping centres, and other conveniences.
