Kentucky Route 58 (KY 58) is a state highway in Kentucky that runs from a dead end near Columbus to U.S. Route 68 (US 68) near Briensburg, Kentucky via Columbus, Clinton, Mayfield, and Benton. History Kentucky Route 58 was part of the initial Commonwealth of Kentucky highway numbering plan developed in the early 1920s as a primary east–west route through far western Kentucky. The original route began at Kentucky Route 93 in Eddyville in Lyon County and immediately crossed the Cumberland River via ferry. The route exited Lyon County via a ferry over the Tennessee River into Marshall County at Birmingham and continued west to Briensburg where it joined its modern-day eastern terminus. The route continued via its modern-day route through Benton, Mayfield and Clinton. Oakton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 36,732 at the 2020 census. Located in Northern Virginia, its center is west of Washington, D.C. Geography Oakton is located in central Fairfax County at (38.883050, −77.289900). The area is traversed by Interstate 66 and Virginia State Route 123. The CDP is bordered to the south by the city of Fairfax, to the west by Fair Oaks, to the northwest by Difficult Run, to the north by the Wolf Trap CDP, to the east by the town of Vienna, and to the southeast by Merrifield. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.38%, is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 29,348 people, 11,118 households, and 7,649 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 3,024.1 people per square mile (1,168.2/km2). The Nut Job
''The Nut Job'' is a 2014 computer-animated heist comedy film directed by Peter Lepeniotis, who also wrote the film with Lorne Cameron. Oakton Community College
Oakton College is a public community college with campuses in Des Plaines, Illinois and Skokie, Illinois. It was established in 1969 in Morton Grove, Illinois and moved to its current locations in 1980. History Oakton College opened in 1969 in former industrial buildings at Oakton and Nagle in Morton Grove. This original campus closed when the Des Plaines and Skokie campuses opened in 1980. The Skokie campus opened in 1980 at the site of the former Niles East High School, an art deco architecture building that was used in the films ''Sixteen Candles'' and ''Risky Business''. The school produced two Nobel laureates. A photograph of the school from 1993 is in the collection of the local historical society. The college demolished the school buildings. Oakton College's Koehnline Museum of Art has about 40 film posters from African American films. Oakton High School is a public high school in unincorporated Fairfax County, Virginia, in proximity to the town of Vienna, in the United States. It is part of Fairfax County Public Schools. Oakton operates on a block schedule five days a week, alternating between "Burgundy" and "Gold" days. It is currently led by Principal Jamie Lane and several assistant principals. History Oakton High School was founded in 1967 in Vienna, Virginia. The original Oakton High School was located in the facility which is now used by Oakton Elementary School. When it opened, Oakton was the host facility for an IBM 1401 which was Fairfax County's first computer. A computer curriculum, one of the first offered at the high school level, was available to full-time Oakton students and to students from several other county high schools on a part-time basis. Oakton–Skokie is an 'L' station on the CTA's Yellow Line, which serves downtown Skokie. Previously, a station existed at this location which was in operation as part of the North Shore Line's Niles Center Route from 1925 until 1948, and later demolished in 1964. The current station opened on April 30, 2012. History In the 1920s, both the Chicago Rapid Transit Company and the North Shore Line (an interurban railroad linking Chicago and Milwaukee) existed under the private ownership of Samuel Insull. The North Shore Line's original route to Milwaukee ran through numerous North Shore communities that had become densely settled.
