Nõmme Kalju FC (), commonly known as Nõmme Kalju, or simply as Kalju (Estonian: "rock" or "cliff"), is an Estonian professional football club, based in Nõmme, Tallinn, that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football. The club's home ground is Hiiu Stadium. Founded in 1923 and re-established in 1997, the club has played in the Meistriliiga since the 2008 season and have never been relegated from the Estonian top division. Nõmme Kalju have won two Meistriliiga titles, one Estonian Cup and one Estonian Supercup. History Founding and re-establishment (1923–2007) Nõmme Kalju football club was founded in 1923 as a division of the Kalju Sports Club by two professional wrestlers, Aleksander Šneider and Mart Liiv. Hiiu Stadium
Hiiu Stadium ( et, Hiiu staadion) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tallinn, Estonia. The stadium and the administration building are owned by Nõmme district and are operated by Nõmme Sport Centre (''Nõmme spordikeskus''). It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Nõmme Kalju youth teams. The address of the stadium is Pidu tänav 11, Tallinn. The stadium was completely renovated in 2002 and cost 8 million Estonian kroon. In 2006, the old artificial turf was replaced by a 3rd generation turf and an administration building with a stand for 300 people was erected. The 2010 season of the Meistriliiga, the first level in the Estonian football system, was the 20th season in the league's history. It started in March and ended in November. The defending champions were Levadia. 2009 Meistriliiga
The 2009 Meistriliiga was the 19th season of the Meistriliiga, Estonia's premier football league. It started on 7 March 2009 and ended on 10 November 2009. Levadia won their seventh title. Changes from the previous season TVMK were disbanded after the end of the previous season. Hence Vaprus, who originally were to be directly relegated, faced Esiliiga side Paide Linnameeskond in a relegation play-off series for one spot in Meistriliiga 2009. With an aggregate 5–5, Paide Linnameeskond won the promotion play-off against Vaprus on the away goals rule and play their first season in Estonian top division. Tallinna Kalev, who originally were to participate in the relegation series, were spared. Kuressaare earned promotion to the 2009 Meistriliiga after finishing in second place in the 2008 Esiliiga; champions Levadia II were not eligible to be promoted. Dinaburg FC
Dinaburg FC was a Latvian football club, playing in the city of Daugavpils. In 2009 it merged with FK Daugava. The club played at the Daugava Stadium (capacity 4,070). On October 5, 2009, Dinaburg was expelled from the Virsliga and both the president and trainer were banned for life on suspicion of betting and match-fixing. Ingemar Teever
Ingemar Teever (born 24 February 1983) is an Estonian former professional footballer who last played as a forward for Estonian Meistriliiga club Levadia. Teever was the top goalscorer in the 2008 and the 2015 Meistriliiga seasons. Teever was named Meistriliiga Player of the Year in 2015. Club career At the age of 19, Teever started his professional career with TVMK, having previously played for lower division clubs Nõmme Kalju and M.C. Tallinn. There he won the 2005 Meistriliiga, Estonian Cup in 2003 and Estonian Supercup in 2005, before leaving the club in 2005. Öster On 1 December 2015, Teever joined Swedish Allsvenskan club Öster. FC Kuressaare, commonly known as Kuressaare, is a professional football club, based in Kuressaare, Saaremaa, Estonia. The club's home ground is Kuressaare linnastaadion. Founded on 14 March 1997, the club competes in the Meistriliiga, the top tier of Estonian football. History Early history Kuressaare was founded on 14 March 1997. Its predecessor was a youth club B.B. Sport, coached by Johannes Kaju. Kuressaare joined the Estonian football league system and began competing in the Western division of the III liiga. The 2007 Esiliiga is the 17th season of the Esiliiga, second-highest Estonian league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. JK Sillamäe Kalev gained automatic promotion to the Meistriliiga as FC Levadia II are the reserve team for Meistriliiga champions FC Levadia and therefore can not be promoted to the same league as its parent club. JK Nõmme Kalju also go up after winning the promotion-relegation play-off. The league's top-scorer was Andrus Mitt from JK Nõmme Kalju with 24 goals. Getúlio Fredo
Getúlio Aurelio Fredo (born 22 September 1954) is a Brazilian-born football manager. Coaching career Fredo's most recent position was as the head coach of the Estonian football club Nõmme Kalju. He led the club to their first ever participation in a European competition when they lost against FC Dinaburg in the first qualifying round of the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League. Fredo's career in coaching has been a lengthy one. He worked with the group of coaches who led the Brazilian U-17 to their World Cup victory some years ago. He also spent many years coaching in Finland and Thailand. He also coached the Estonia national beach soccer team. In March 2021, he received a sexual harassment accusation, which became a major scandal in Estonia, fuelling movements to raise the age of consent from 14 to 16 years.
