Nyando District
Nyando district was a former district in Kenya which broke away from Kisumu District in Nyanza Province in 1998. Nyando district bordered the Rift Valley Province. The district is named after the Nyando River. Its capital was a small town called Awasi, located 30 kilometres east of the Kisumu. Other towns and villages in the district included Muhoroni, Chemelil, Ahero, Miwani, Koru, Kibigori, and Fort Ternan. In 2010, the district was eliminated and merged into Kisumu County. Districts Of Kenya
Sub-counties are the decentralised units through which county governments of Kenya will provide functions and services. Except for the parts which fall under urban areas, sub-counties will coincide with the constituencies created under article 89 of the Constitution of Kenya. Sub-counties will be headed by a sub-county administrator, appointed by a County Public Service Board. Under the former Constitution of Kenya, the Provinces of Kenya were subdivided into a number of districts (''wilaya''). Nyakach is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of seven constituencies of Kisumu County. The constituency has five wards, all electing MCAs for the Kisumu County Assembly. Kisumu County
Kisumu County is one of 47 counties in the Republic of Kenya. Its borders follow those of the original Kisumu District, one of the former administrative districts of the former Nyanza Province in western Kenya. Its headquarters is Kisumu City which is the third largest city in Kenya after the capital Nairobi and the coastal city of Mombasa. It has a population of 1,155,574 (according to the 2019 National Census). The land area of Kisumu County totals 2085.9 km2. Fort Ternan is a small town in Kericho County, Kenya, located 50 kilometres east of Kisumu and five kilometres east of Koru. It is named after Col. Trevor Ternan C.M.G.D.S.O. Koru is a small town centre in Kisumu County, Kenya, Africa (0.1833° S, 35.2667° E). It forms an electoral ward of Muhoroni Constituency and Muhoroni town council.
