Made In Hong Kong (And In Various Other Places)
''Made in Hong Kong (And in Various Other Places)'' is the title of a live / compilation CD/DVD by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, released on 11 March 2009. The album contains a CD and a DVD – the CD consists of eight songs recorded live during their ''Dark Passion Play'' tour in 2008, two tracks previously released as b-sides, and a previously unreleased demo version of "Cadence of Her Last Breath", predating Anette Olzon's joining the band and thus sung by bassist Marko Hietala (as were all the demos from ''Dark Passion Play''). The DVD contains three music videos as well as a documentary featuring material from Israel to South America, directed by Ville Lipiäinen. Background When the information on the album was released, discussions outbroke in forums about the odd name compared to Nightwish's other album titles, which are generally more serious and deep. It was soon discovered, however, that keyboardist and band leader Tuomas Holopainen mentioned already in the E ...

Tuomas Holopainen has referred to this album as the "album that saved his life". The song "Eva" was leaked on the Internet six days before its official release, prompting the band to release it earlier as a promotional single to boost downloads. Several other versions of the song were posted on YouTube and torrent sites a month later; the entire album with record label voice-overs h ...

Alyson Avenue
Alyson Avenue is a melodic rock band from Helsingborg, Sweden. The band was formed by keyboardist Niclas Olsson along with then bassist Thomas Lyöskä, the band was originally fronted by a male vocalist until 1995 when back-up singer Anette Olzon became a permanent member and lead vocalist. Their musical style is described as AOR and melodic rock. History Alyson Avenue was formed in 1989 by a couple of friends who intended to play melodic rock in the way Treat and Europe amongst others did. At that time Alyson Avenue had a male vocalist. Anette Olzon was taken in to the band as a back-up singer, but did a great job on a demo recording, and then became a permanent member soon after the band was founded. With a female vocalist, the band's sound was to be compared with that of Heart and Robin Beck. Their music drifted towards a much more "poppier" sound for a while, but at the rehearsals, the band was only heard playing everything from hard rock to even soul. When playing live, ...

Greatest Hits
A greatest hits album or best-of album is a type of compilation album that collects popular and commercially successful songs by a particular artist or band. While greatest hits albums are typically supported by the artist, they can also be created by record companies without express approval from the original artist as a means to generate sales. They are typically regarded as a good starting point for new fans of an artist, but are sometimes criticized by longtime fans as not inclusive enough or necessary at all. It is also common for greatest hits albums to include new recordings, remixes or unreleased alternate takes of the hit songs, plus other new material as bonus tracks to increase appeal for longtime fans (who might otherwise already own the recordings included). At times, a greatest hits compilation marks the first album appearance of a successful single that was never attached to a previous studio album. History The first greatest hits album was Johnny Mathis's ''J ...

It is the fifth and last album to feature Tarja Turunen on lead vocals. The album cost nearly €250,000 to make, (1,000,000 including the videos) which made it Finland's most expensive recording ever until the release of Nightwish's next album, ''Dark Passion Play'', which cost over €500,000 to produce.
