Woldmaria
''Woldmaria'' is a fungal genus in the family Niaceae. The genus is monotypic, containing the single species ''Woldmaria filicina'', found in Europe and North America. ''Woldmaria'' was described by William Bridge Cooke in 1961, with ''Woldmaria crocea'' as the type species In zoological nomenclature, a type species (''species typica'') is the species name with which the name of a genus or subgenus is considered to be permanently taxonomically associated, i.e., the species that contains the biological type specimen ...; it was subsequently moved into synonymy with ''W. filicina''. ''Lachnella'' is a genus of cyphelloid fungi in the Niaceae The Niaceae are a family of fungi in the order Agaricales. The family contains six genera and 56 species. The genus has a widespread distribution and contains six species. The tiny fruiting bodies (up to about 2 mm across) are cup-shaped or disc-shaped and are densely edged with long white hairs. At most they may have a very short stem, but generally none at all. They can be found all year round on sticks, stalks and sometimes on bark. They are resistant to desiccation, rolling up into a tough closed ball to protect the fertile surface when dry weather comes. List Of Agaricales Families
The Agaricales are an order of fungi in the class Agaricomycetes (division Basidiomycota). It is the largest group of mushroom-forming fungi, and includes more than 400 genera and over 13,000 species. Molecular phylogenetics analyses of ribosomal DNA sequences has led to advances in our understanding of the Agaricales, and substantially revised previous assessments of families and genera. The following families are in the Agaricales, according to the 10th edition of the ''Dictionary of the Fungi'' (2008)Kirk ''et al''. (2008), p. 12. with some additions.
