Pentatominae
Pentatominae is a subfamily of Pentatomidae, a family of shield bugs. This subfamily is the largest one within the Pentatomidae, having 4937 species classified in 938 genera. Species in this subfamily are phytophages and several of them are considered agricultural pests. There are over 20 described species in ''Chlorochroa''. Description Adult ''Chlorochroa'' range in size from 8-19 mm long and are broadly oval in shape. They are green to brownish or almost black in colour, and have a pale red/yellow/whitish margin around the body excluding the head. For at least some species, colouration varies with latitude, being darker in the south and greener in the north. The scutellum is long and triangular, sometimes has three bumps along the base and usually the tip is paler than the rest. The forewing membrane is often translucent.
