Next Digital Limited (), previously known as Next Media Limited, founded by Jimmy Lai, has 2,095 employees (as of 30 Sep 2020) and is the largest listed media company in Hong Kong. From 20 October 2015, the company has changed its English name to Next Digital Limited, from Next Media Limited. The media outlet has a user base of 5.0 million monthly unique visitors in Hong Kong, 12.3 million monthly unique visitors in Taiwan, 1.7 million in the USA and 399,0002 in Canada up till 2019. Apple Daily, the newspaper of the media group, is the most read newspaper in the city. Political position The news media has often offered explicit, proactive support for pro-democracy groups in Hong Kong. The paper is regarded to hold libertarian views on financial and economic issues. Controversy The media group made an entrance into the industry by introducing tabloid-style journalism, along with making mainstream reporting (see middle-market newspaper), to Hong Kong as well as Taiwan. ...

''Next Magazine'' was a Chinese weekly magazine, published online in Hong Kong from 1990 to 2021. Owned by Jimmy Lai, the magazine was the number one news magazines in both markets in terms of audited circulation and AC Nielsen reports. A Taiwanese version of ''Next Magazine'' was published from 2001 to 2018, and the online version of Taiwan's ''Next Magazine'' ended in 2020. General Founded on 15 March 1990, ''Next magazine'' was the second most popular magazine in Hong Kong, until Jimmy Lai's other magazine, ''Sudden Weekly'', shuttered in 2015. Hong Kong's media consists of several different types of communications of mass media: television, radio, cinema, newspapers, magazines, websites and other online platforms. Overview Hong Kong is home to many of Asia's biggest media entities and remains one of the world's largest film industries. Next Media Animation
Next Animation Studio (formerly Next Media Animation; ) is a Taiwan-based subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Next Media that creates humorous and simple CGI-animated coverage of recent news stories and sporting events and releases them through TomoNews. The shorts were originally narrated in Mandarin and subsequently subtitled in English; more recent ones are released with Chinese, English, and Japanese narration. The studio became well-known beyond its Chinese-language audience in 2010, when it covered the revelations of Tiger Woods' extramarital affairs and the JetBlue flight attendant incident, and participated in an online video "feud" with Conan O'Brien.
